That shyt wasn't honest. If anything, it was tame and unrealistic.

Slaves fought.....OFTEN...and used other means than over the top shyt on that movie. But it's a movie though.

or course its not explicitly realistic, its a movie made for hollywood. but he didn't sugarcoast much and painted slavery as purely fukked up with no type of redeeming qualities. which is as accurate as a hollywood movie needs to be with this shyt.

I don't think it accurately portrayed it. Especially here in the states were slaves were prized unlike in the West Indies and South America where they were used up on the sugar cane fields until they worked to death and replenished. The Mandingo fighting to the death was also a myth

I'm sorry, but unlike many of us in here, this country has had an honest and open enough conversation about slavery for me to be comfortable enough to jump the shark and get to the point where I can completely accept a slave revenge spaghetti western set in the antebellum south.

shyt...we're living in a country where textbooks are being printed saying slaves weren't being treated that bad. shyt....the DC Rotunda which chronicles the history of this country completely neglects it taking place.

Movies like this help shape the narrative thats missing. I don't like the order of it all.

Dog....I'd advice you to read up on slavery a lil more.

That niqqa would have been kept alive and sold to either some mining company (which they accurately depicted) or had something done worse to him than being eaten by dogs.

Didn't say they pacified it...but even QT said it could have been worse.

Its a movie tho cuz...what don't ya'll get about that? Even fukking roots which I watched all 20ish hours of didn't depict AS BAD AS it could have been. Most movies don't show anything AS BAD AS it could have been.
