Exactly. Because people pay for the platform/service (Netflix/Amazon/Hulu) and not individual series/films they're more likely to check for things out of the box.

I’ve watched a lot of low budget sh!t on Netflix, bottom of the barrel bullish!t but I’ve found some jewels that I would of never found because I’m not paying for dvd sh!t I’ve never heard of.

A good movie is a good movie, regardless of what studios put it out, if netflix can compete for distribution rights with other studios, like buying that ted bundy flick with Effron than why shouldnt the movies be worthy of an oscar even if its as good as those films?

Really? Because people don’t buy dvds /blurays of movies that they don’t know . Why are you fighting for big movie studios :gucci:

like Disney ?
Netflix are pretty much bigger than most of the studios. Where was I fighting for big studios anyway?

Also what Disney did was foul and it's no different with Netflix

The major studios been trying for a while to get Netflix outta here. Remember how they tried to crap on that Will Smith movie “Bright” like it was THE worst movie of all time, when it was far from it?

PLUS it burns those old white directors up to see black directors like Ava, Spike Lee....black ppl they told “No were not gonna make ya movies, no market for your stories.” are now MAKING IT and winning awards. THATS the heart of it: They just do not want minorities to shine AT ALL.

I thought it was ok, the concept is nice but it needs better direction

It was very difficult to get your foot in the door to Hollywood 20 years ago, now you have other platforms to get your content out and that scares the old guard of Hollywood. Their scavenging for some sort of control, any control but I think it’s too late.

just like the music industry. the old cacs and execs trying to hold on, but their time is up and they are scared of the new because it puts them out to bed.

Roma was in theaters for the necessary amount of time it needed to be eligible for Oscar nomination. That is all that needs to be said.
If Spielberg has a problem with it then tough titty. He should should honestly stop being a whiny bytch about it and just recognize that the way people consume media has changed and if he (and other studios) want to make sure that all the lazy fukks who vote for Oscar noms actually take the time to watch the movies up for contention (which the majority of them don't even bother to do) then release them joints to Netflix or some other streaming so that they are more easily accessible.

I’m not a fan of Netflix but Spielberg should fall back on this. Roma was garbage but it if met the requirements and was nominated then there’s nothing to complain about.
