The main issue for me is that Netflix allows for far more opportunities for people of color. Movies like Roma and many other small projects like “first match” etc are far more likely to make it on Netflix than a theater.

Seems fukked up but 98% of what Netflix puts out is trash.

I don't have much sympathy

Netflix never started out as a production studio and has had to churn out original content fast and adapt.

They are doing as good as they can given that scenario.

It was very difficult to get your foot in the door to Hollywood 20 years ago, now you have other platforms to get your content out and that scares the old guard of Hollywood. Their scavenging for some sort of control, any control but I think it’s too late.

Exactly. Because people pay for the platform/service (Netflix/Amazon/Hulu) and not individual series/films they're more likely to check for things out of the box.
