4k = resolution
60fps = performance
1440p@60fps > 4k@30fps
would be really good for that type of game unless the 4k visuals are THAT stunning.
That Unreal Demo ran at 1440p and looked great on my 65 inch.

I'll be running all my shyt in performance mode if it's stable 60 frames at least. As long as they got some good anti-aliasing and whatnot so I'm not actually looking at 1440p textures on a 4k screen

Meaning visuals will be lesser in order to facilitate a higher framerate.
Devs do that all the time, they are sort of vague.
Just like when Dirt 5 was announced with a 120FPS mode for Series X.

And the devs here aren’t even making any claims. They say they are “investigating” 120fps.
If I had to guess I’d say the 120fps mode would be sub 4K.
But being that this is a multiplayer mode the “investigation” is probably them trying to decide if 4K 60fps is better than FauxK120fps since there will be no option and all players have to play at the same spec.
