I haven't seen one second of this and I know these dudes are lying.

Better than Black Panther? Better than Incredibles 2? Best Spider-Man movie ever? Best movie of 2018? Word? :meloword:

That new movie smell is something else :pachaha:

You could always see it for yourself, Steph and figure out how you feel. Everyone’s got opinions and they all stink lol. We’re all just saying how we feel. I wouldn’t put it over BP but I’d put it over incredibles 2

I wouldn't say its better than BP because I think BP had better writing but this is one of the more unique looking movies you will ever see

I haven't seen incredibles 2 so I cant compare em. I'll wait a year before I can say it's the best spidey movie. let the hype die down

see yall doing too much, I havent seen it so i may be full of shyt but there is no way this was better than BP and avengers, not possible

Well, these are our opinions, so it's a very personal rating. I personally think this is the best superhero comic book movie EVER, not because IW, TWS, BP, or The Dark Knight are inferior. They're excellent live action movies, but them being live action limits their ability to translate the source material in a way that fully captures the comic book feel of the source material. This movie is a living breathing comic book, and that elevates it for me. It also helps that the writing and heart in this story are top notch as well.

I think your key point there is it doesn’t make those movies inferior. Often when we’re having these discussions, people take it to mean you’re shytting on something else or saying it’s infeior; quite the opposite. Me thinking this is better than the incredibles 2 doesn’t mean incredibles 2 is wack or a bad movie by any means. Just means this one affected me more. But that’s one of the downfalls of everything becoming binary

It's one of the things that frustrates me about discussions now on pop culture and media. There always has to be one definitive winner and everything else is called garbage. It really doesn't have to be like that. I don't know why we always go there.

I think we all take our favorites personally and someone not mentioning this thing I love or saying something is better than this thing I love means they’re shytting on me. They’re not, but that’s how we feel as people. There has to be a way to divorce ourselves from that. Yes, the things we love are often a reflection of who we are but it’s not an indictment on us.

You can still love a thing and identify with it but not act like someone cursed you out by not liking something you love. Eventually we have to get to that point where all opinions can fly and discuss the opinions.

I forget who I was talking to, but someone here was talking to me about venom. And the main thing we both took away from the critic response to it was the way some of them reacted once the movie became a huge hit. Some critics didn’t know how to deal with that lol and you could see it in their writing whenever they’d have to mention the movie or things associated with it. It’s one thing to learn to be cool with people not liking something you love, but we also have to be cool with people liking or loving something we don’t.

For those who haven’t seen the movie yet, you got nothing but good reviews on here lol... just go check it out! Let us know what you think. I’d be surprised if anyone comes on here saying it’s just garbage but we all have our own opinions.

Black Panther, Infinity War, Deadpool 2, Antman/Wasp, The Incredibles... I enjoyed all of these but this Spider-Verse was just on another level for me. I plan on seeing it again after I check out the other 2 movies that currently have positive reviews... Bumblebee and Aquaman.

Not the case for me, im not one of those people, I still fall on the objective side of things..

saying this is the best comic movie of the year when it was some high quality comic book movies this year is a bold statement. I just think its a little too early to be up there only a few days after release..Its also hard to believe cause to ME its not a movie I knew was even being made before I saw the venom end credit scene and I actually saw the scene at home cause I didnt even know it was at the end of the movie. My perception is this movie came out of nowhere and now yall are saying its the goat, that just hard to believe, its possible but damn excuse me if I question these huge claims.. and like i said I could be full of shyt cause I havent even seen it yet, i just didnt expect much after seeing the trailer

I can tell you my problem, I still think people are trying to be objective when they give opinions in a public setting. I think these threads on here are people that know how to remove their personal bias aside give an opinion for someone that isnt caught up on the comics and are just going in because its spiderman.. I could be naive tho :manny:

But everything you said is cool man. That's your opinion though. It's very possible for other people to have differing opinions and they came to them objectively. Can't assume the opinions are slanted or not objective unless you can break open peoples brains and peak inside.

Ultimately, you gotta see the movie and decide for yourself though. Having this debate with people who have seen it while you haven't means you're just arguing their opinions on something you haven't seen
