No, I questioned why Tommy Knocks is associating negative things going on in South Sudan with the rest of Africa. That is what I criticized him for...I don't have a problem with him criticizing South Sudan, their politicians, the warring factions, etc. etc. All I did was caution him not to project one negative thing going on in one part of Africa with the whole of Africa. Tommy Knocks is half Congolese...and in the eastern part of his country they were fighting over mineral wealth up until very recently....I don't use that and say a continent of 1 billion African people is fukked up. I'm Ghanaian, why should I have to take on the negative burden of other African countries like Sudan and The Congo? My thing is this, if I can't share in your wealth, I won't take on your burden. I have a problem with people only unifying African people when it comes to something negative, when it comes to something positive they treat it like an anomaly.

Did I blame the U.S. for the S.S. own actions? Of course not. Power is a drug of it's own but you always have to look at cause and effect. Don't look at S.S. for what's going on this moment....look at what has been going on before that. Sometimes you have to look outside the box to see the big picture. Why was Sudan part of the destabilization plan back in the 2001? Look at Libya and how the change has made things even worse and now will split the country up even more.

These internal divisions are not new to the SPLM. The deposed VP also had a disagreements with John Garang and once broke away from the movement, the ethnic angle isnt't also new either as there were similar problems even in the early 90s with Garang. This is not a new phenomena in African liberation struggles, it happened in Angola, Zimbabwe, and to a lesser extent SA where the political parties and freedom fighters were aligned with ethnic groups. The poster who mentioned the Nigerian example is right in that formation of modern nation states in Africa through conquest superimposed national boundaries that people had no historical allegiance to , the task for most leaders at independence was supposed to be nation building at first and many failed in that regard. We saw in Yugoslavia that you can only go so far in holding up a nation when the conflicts are deep seated. The OAU agreed to keep the borders because they knew the potential for intractable conflicts once different groups started agitating for their own nation. S.Sudan is going through what many African countries faced at independence in forging a common identity.

that's more bullshyt, SS's first alliance and first pivot was toward the east african community who all speak english, what they did was turn away from the arabs and islam and embrace the english speaking black africa
