Exactly.

And to keep it funky, some of those older joints would benefit greatly from a remake.

The success of shyt like FF7 shows this (please throw that Luminous engine in the bushes though Squeenix).

Physical does not make up the majority of sales anymore. So them digi sales are straight 100% revenue for them with no work involved. They made their budget back in the first month alone for the most part. Game was more than profitable with ease after the first 5 million sold.

And yeah, they're gonna resell it again once Season 2 drops because the demand is there (TLOU Part 1 Remake Showed this).

It is what it is.

But to compare to movies is dumb where the financial structure isn't the same with theaters.
Generously $50 per game is about what they would make on those early sales.

At 5 million sold that’s $250m

The documents said the games cost $200m to make and $100-200m to market.

They don’t really start making money till like 6-7 mill are sold. Which is why they need to keep making remakes and remasters to keep the cash flowing on that initial huge investment.

Cac tweets to the rescue again :ohlawd:

In the face of facts and numbers they got their feelings and cac tweets :wow:

Between the lines: Both games are sure to have been profitable, Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter and Cowen’s Doug Creutz tell Axios.

  • Pachter pegs Sony’s profit on each at close to $300 million.
  • His math includes cuts for marketing and physical retailers.
  • It also helps that these are Sony-made games for a Sony console, so the game maker here doesn’t need to give the standard 30% cut to the platform holder. Economics for blockbusters, in other words, favor first-party games.

Sounds like your mans agrees with us.

That’s from the cac tweet dude that’s been known to just make up stuff.

Where’s the transcript or actual quote from Michael Pacter on how he reached that number.

We know from the court documents it cost at least $300m to make and market the game.

To make 300m profit they would have needed to sell 10 million and pull in full profit of $60 on each individual sale. Which we know is impossible.

So in light of the math we actually know, it doesn’t matter what your cac tweet says, unless he adds some type of insight or information that we don’t know about.

No. This is why you goofies are so susceptible to fake news, lies and propaganda just like maga republicans.

If someone is gonna source another person in a story, you as the reader should follow that source and look for confirmation/explanation yourself to make sure the writer of the story is not misrepresenting the information.

If he’s gonna just flippantly mention what some analyst “told him” he should also be linking to a source or direct quote or numbers or something in order to give readers a chance to confirm the information.

Otherwise Michale Pacter said @Gizmo_Duck momma a hoe and we all believe him :manny:
