This wouldn’t be an issue if we also actually got an update from TLOU3, Factions or the new IP they’re making…anything lol

nikkas dumpster diving linkedin profiles for games, this ain’t even announced yet. Let these nikkas work.

There are liek 4 studios that should be ahead of naughty dog in terms of announcements right now

Usual Xbox Cappin and Concern Trolling

HFW was a 200 million budget and TLOU2 was 220.

Both were profitable with the copies they sold.

Try again. :snooze:

Let's talk business and stakeholder talk. If we budget 220 million not including marketing which is usually 20 to 40 million for an AAA title.

After it all said and done we bring home only 40 to 50 million maybe less especially as the game gets price reduction... How is that a solid investment for a project worth 220 million??? Sooner or later stakeholders will voice concerns.

This is not the movie business where you can make more in one week etc.. this a gaming division where the exclusive to console attach rate is less than 1 percent.

Sony exclusive play is old school and not enough anymore. shyt doesn't work. This explains why they were behind Microsoft and Nintendo in profits

How is this sustainable?

The last remake no one wanted is still one of the best selling games of the year, a whole year later :coffee:

HFW is around 10 million sold.

TLOU2 is over that.

Also keep in mind that there is no 30% royalty fee they have to pay since they are first party games so outside of the physical copies where they have to break the retailer off some bread, they keep all the revenue. Movie ticket sales give the theaters a little under half of the revenue. It's not the same. But we can't act like they threw a 200 million budget at a new IP. They didn't. Once the games proved that they were hits, they got bigger budgets for the sequels. Nothing out of the norm. And unlike movies, a game that sold 10 million plus isn't gonna drop to like 2 or 3 million for the sequels. So comparing to cinema ain't the same.

The issue is companies thinking they can spend big on budgets/marketing on unproven shyt or shyt we didn't ask for and look dumb when it bombs horribly.

Absolutely no one is in their feelings but x box stans that feel jealous they don’t have games like this that are honored in the same way. They already milked halo with the chief collections, they got nothing left but forza

starfield won’t even get to remaster status :palm:
Yes they “honor” their games by selling them to you again.

Sony stan’s are broken :mjlol:

They pay around 30% to retailers, manufacturing, etc for physical games which make up lots of these sales. They also bundle the games and put them on huge discounts.

TLOU2 was bundled for free and sold at $20 just a year after it came out.

It sounds good to say it sold 10million copies, but it took A LOT of money to get there.

Like every successful game in history :wow:
Historically remakes have come much later, when the technology warrants it. Simple performance upgrades have usually been free on PC and xbox as you upgrade your hardware. Sony and nintendo call them “remasters” and sell them to you again.

But I think TLOU holds the record for the only game that was remastered, then remade, then they made a remaster of the remake and sold that shyt again :wow:

Honor games brehs :wow:

Physical does not make up the majority of sales anymore. So them digi sales are straight 100% revenue for them with no work involved. They made their budget back in the first month alone for the most part. Game was more than profitable with ease after the first 5 million sold.

And yeah, they're gonna resell it again once Season 2 drops because the demand is there (TLOU Part 1 Remake Showed this).

It is what it is.

But to compare to movies is dumb where the financial structure isn't the same with theaters.

When you make GOAT games you can re-release them as much as you want :yeshrug:

Like i said, it’s been dry on the other side, but both nintendo and sony eat off remasters because people love their games. Microsoft don’t have that
