Remember that the CMA only wanted a garentee that Microsoft wasn't buying activision to remove games from competing platforms but Microsoft refused to issue any garentees.

Xbots swore that they wouldn't do that because it wasn't profitable, they were bringing up statements made by Phil Spencer saying that wasn't their intentions, but here we are.


I have no doubt that Microsoft will attempt to buy other large publishers like EA if this deal goes through. It's crazy how people are ok with a company like Microsoft consolidating the gaming industry because they feel like it's a win in some petty stan war, and can't see how this acquisition war is extremely bad for the industry overall.

All jokes aside, the deal will go through eventually but MAJOR concessions are going to be made in order to get it approved in other countries. Pretty sure that aspect is not something MS leadership had accounted for.

Y’all can stop binging up that windows/office/explore shyt. That was an entire different scenario.

At the time(and still now) microsoft pretty much had a monopoly on PC operating systems.

They used that position to squeeze out software competitors that were trying to sell software for their operating system. Kinda like what sony is doing now

This is a very different scenario as microsoft isn’t even close to the console market leader, and competitors are not being squeezed out by microsoft acquiring devs and content.
