Not really this is a result of capitalism. Companies seek to be gobbled up by those with more capital. Tencent is bigger than Microsoft in gaming and they're still buying stuff.Still not a fan of consolidation, but this unfortunately inevitable once it became clear that the Activision deal was going to go through. Businesses gonna business.
And it's the reason capitalism needs strong regulations. Consolidation has never been beneficial for any industry in the long run. I don't know why yall think this time will be different. Not really this is a result of capitalism. Companies seek to be gobbled up by those with more capital. Unless they make third party exclusives illegal the consolidation has already happened. And it's the reason capitalism needs strong regulations. Consolidation has never been beneficial for any industry in the long run. I don't know why yall think this time will be different.
Care to elaborate how third party exclusives (timed or not) lead to where we are?Unless they make third party exclusives illegal the consolidation has already happened.
This was all covered in the trial thread in which you were very active.Care to elaborate how third party exclusives (timed or not) lead to where we are?
I don’t agree due to the fact those same 3rd party developers have options to release exclusives on other platforms (sunset overdrive) or simply make timed exclusives.
The large scale consolidation started with 3rd parties (activision, ea, embracer, etc).
Yea, don't recall, but do you. This was all covered in the trial thread in which you were very active.
I am, it's Friday. Argue with meach. I got debauchery to doYea, don't recall, but do you.
Contracting developers to develop a product is far different than consolidation.Unless they make third party exclusives illegal the consolidation has already happened.
But what you’re describing isn’t what was happening.Contracting developers to develop a product is far different than consolidation.
Facebook investing in a team of developers to develop features for Facebook is not the same as Facebook buying Instagram.
