For Microsoft they seem to see games as an afterthought. Microsoft is often ahead of the pack in terms innovation, true, but they leap too far ahead, forgetting the primary reason people buy consoles are to play games, the primary consumers of consoles are gamers.

Japan in particular doesn't rock with the Xbox AT ALL. Only reason why companies like Square Enix even make their games multi-plat is because of the demand in the West. And even then, most of their player base is on PlayStation.

Xbox isn't even a bad console at all, but there's not much on there that I'm interested in. Meanwhile I bought a PS4 for FFXV and KH3 back in 2015 from a pawn shop, and ended up getting the Uncharted trilogy, Persona 5, Nier Automata, Spider-Man PS4, Bloodborne, God of War and The Last of Us Remastered out of it. And that's just some of the games I bought that I can remember off top.

If E3 comes around and their studios announce games that look really good, then that's great -- more competition means better games due to companies wanting to outdo each other. But PlayStation came out with so many amazing first-party exclusives this gen, and if anyone denies that, it's just saltiness that their "team" didn't win. There's a reason why they decided to go with backwards compatibility for the PS5, this generation was amazing, it's not even close.

Even 8k playback is no joke. The price of this to play 4k@60fps games with Ray tracing and 8k video will not be cheap. Add in a proc that can play 8k, uhd drive and what will need to be a lot of ram and sizeable ssd, and we're expensive. Nobody is taking that kind of margin loss to make this $500. Something dramatic would have to happen in the used tech for this to happen at $500

This is why streaming/server farm model is starting to spread. 4k @60fps with Ray tracing requires at least a 2080 and only on will optimized games. That's$700-$800 on the graphic core and associated memory alone.

Are you pricing this out at bulk prices tho? Most people under estimate how cheap these companies will get this stuff because of mass production

MGS4 and the 4 is fit the amount of hours of actual gameplay, but since it was exclusive you still talk about it like if it was this fantastic game

Infamous flopped and it's likely not getting a sequel next gen, at least it lasted longer than resistance

Uncharted 1 is mediocre, you would not play it today, and you just watched a walkthrough for uncharted 3 which tells all there needs to be said when it comes to how you feel about the franchise

Motorstorm... I was kinda jelly over this franchise because Xbox didn't have a game like that. Then Forza horizon dropped and motorstorm flopped and you still without that itch scratched. Fatboi1 recommends crash team racing

Killzone 2, overrated by fanboys but a decent title that is no longer getting sequels because nobody likes it, but we'll always have E3

Little big planet was cool at first, but they lied saying it was a 50gb game when most games today are not that big, the dishonesty turns nikkaz off and the karma killed the franchise. Why these supposed great games chilling with the other franchises you liked from socom to 3rd party exclusives going multiplat.

I didn't even get into the hypocrisy of Sony having 3rd party exclusives is cool but you attack Microsoft if they do it. And you a casual so at the end if the day...

That said, if we can't even get reliable 4K streams in full quality what makes you think we'll have 8K streams?
I know daddy Sony said 8K so we're all going chant 8K 8K 8K for the next 7 years, but how about we be men and just cut 8K out of our vocabulary right now to avoid debating for endless hours about something that won't exist in the real world for 99% of the population for the foreseeable future.
