Because they focus so much on making things BLACK as opposed to making good shows.
Have you watched 'Being Mary Jane", the new TV series with Gabrielle Union?
Her character is very successful, but her family members are a mess. They don't have jobs, so she supports them financially. In the first episode / pilot, he brother actually went to her job to demand for $500 so that he could buy his daughter a gift. The other brother sells weed.
The brother didn't goto her job he was at the the house when he asked for the money just had to correct that part. The show is ok but there are a lot of stereotypes but how many shows aren'tHave you watched 'Being Mary Jane", the new TV series with Gabrielle Union?

Tyler Perry is flat out....I love my people to death but there is literally nothing on TV in 2013 with a majority black cast thats quality. Those Tyler Perry sitcoms on TBS are
I believe this nikkas want shyt on tv but then won't support it knowing that the higher ups not trying to put out ethnic shows that don't do numbers. That's shyt might slide with white shows for a minute cause they feel they can get some white eyeballs but with our shows them shyts better be smoking from the jump or else. All you have to do is look at black movies like red tails, rosewood, and see how they do to see what the problem is. It's like we want the shows on tv just so you can have the option to not watch them like we usually do but while it should be like that it's not realistic at this point in time.Honestly, we have to show there's demand for it. Two of my girls work for large tv conglomerates, one in programming (she vets shows) and basically any majority black show gets the bushes firstly because they feel they can't attract a strong enough and wide enough audience to make money on it and secondly, she says they are often sent in with poor writing and underdeveloped - this is the reason all the black shows are on cable and pretty much suck
Kinda surprised nobody mentioned The Wire when talking about great black TV shows, or is it people don't consider it a black TV show?
No one here's actually given good reasons why House of Payne and other Tyler Perry shows are bad. No logical reasons.
