Curtis Payne was kinda funny,Mr Brown is simply annoying and feminine
...House of Payne wasn't that bad,but it goes back to the actors....what made them think the nikka from Jasons Lyric would be good at comedy?or really any of those other actors on the show outside the little girl really
.....they all seemed pretty good in the serious scenes, and they comedic timing and delivery probaly could've even worked fine for a stagge play but on national television
...they just didn't have it.
I guess I take for granted in the 90's who had people on black shows like Family Matters,Fresh Prince,Martin who could deliver as serious actors when it was time to be serious,AND when it was time to be funny...Goofy azz carlton or Uncle Phile could easily transition from goofy scene to a powerful serious scene...House of Pain actors did "serious" scenes well, but lacked on the comedic side.
