I dig that Rickey Smiley show. Not a great sitcom but I can watch it for 30 minutes and be somewhat entertained. Lil JJ and Ray J are good on there.Mr. Box Office has such a talented cast, but the writing on it is

I haven't seen Love Thy Neighbor, but the promos for it were cringeworthy.

Anyway, I watched "House of Payne" a couple times last year. It wasn't TOO awful. Pretty fukking ridiculous but I was moderately entertained.
Maybe there just aren't enough popular black comedians that want to do sitcoms out here. Seems kind of risky when reality-TV is so lucrative. I don't know.
...she ended up bein on the Parkers and man,she got thicker than she ever was on HIOS and the booty got fat...her and the chick off Coming To America got a fat booty later in they career if that's what u wanna call it
...people just wanna see blacks and lawyers and doctors and are so worried about white people "looking at us bad"
...they would just call it c00nin it up if we had a show that really catered to black people....and black comedy overal is pretty dead,hopefully with the success of Kevin Hart,whether you think he funny or not,hopefully his success will inspire more black comedic mines to do more than just be funny at the family get togethers
...and improve the talent pool
...so the people who do these shows are talented in that regard...either the jokes or the actors they have executing the jokes just don't get it accross.
...seems like they just like sumbody as a actor and disregard how well they work with each other...House of Payne wasn't that bad,but it goes back to the actors....what made them think the nikka from Jasons Lyric would be good at comedy?or really any of those other actors on the show outside the little girl really
.....they all seemed pretty good in the serious scenes,and they comedic timing and delivery probaly could've even worked fine for a stagge play but on national television...they just didn't have it.

I guess I take for granted in the 90's who had people on black shows like Family Matters,Fresh Prince,Martin who could deliver as serious actors when it was time to be serious,AND when it was time to be funny...Goofy azz carlton or Uncle Phile could easily transition from goofy scene to a powerful serious scene...House of Pain actors did "serious" scenes well,but lacked on the comedic side.

Curtis Payne lacked comedy? cmon the way he acted to how he ragged on everybody in the show has his comedy on point.
