send those my way brotheri got laid off from my first corporate job... i been watching a lot of corporate tik tok so i kno how to move now
.
But thats just the breaks, you have to be extra exceptional/perfect as a black person. Plus you got to play the corporate game that much more - putting on a face to appease and make the 'folks' comfortable. Over the next two months I am really going to have to be on my Ps and Qs
Facts, just had performance bonus review meeting
Reviewed all my work as an engineer who is also doing underpaid project manager work
Result: Meets expectations.
So I ask why? They said nah nah we like you, you've been producing but it's time to lead the dept.
Lol so on top of the micro-aggressions, the information isolationism, stagnant bureaucracy, the additional bs work no one wants to deal with,
I still have to produce and lead product campaigns. Which I do.
Now You want me to revamp AND lead MY dept? with no support? for the same pay?
LMAO that's why my corporate OGs say to just keep your peace, find your lane and level, and chill.
There's even more BS at the top . Sad part is I still want to go there.
As a black man
send those my way brother
I took some time off but I def need to travel further out. I’m grateful for the gig but it’s got its own bs like every corporate gig. The compensation and experience is valuable. Only black guy in this role. So I’m still grateful in a sense.Do you want to vacation in peace? You want more time away from work?
Think about it
Naw he tryna fukk uIt’s been happening to me this year but I don’t give a fukk I got credentials and experience. It’s been so bad even my HR person noticed it and he a gay white man.
Where u located breh? We gotta linkI feel you breh
All my friends are ghanaian and jamaican except one Egyptian to be honest
Maybe it’s just because we’re getting older and in to that middle management level now
Shytposter indeed
If you dont think black men, in particular, have to overcome ignorant stereotypes (typecast as being aggressive, homophobic, arrogant, etc) and prejudices in the workplace, I cant help you.
