there's always exceptions....but not for the vast majority.

I never had a 'true' female friend until I was married for a few years. There were a lot of women 'friends' who I wanted to smash and who I simply stopped dealing with once my friend approach failed.
Now that I'm married and older I have 2 female friends and I'm not attracted to either of them.
But when I was single it was inefficient to be friends with unattractive women. It was a waste of time and energy. I barely spoke to unattractive women. Single men are hunting for food. No use wasting energy on wack chicks.

It's funny that women are almost always the ones saying that they have platonic male friendships. I bet you 3 out of 4 if not all 4 of them want to smash. You should pretend that you want them, see what they say and report back to us how many were real friends.
