I'm black on both sides, breh. But, I'm not going to front like a dude that has never even won a conference champio

Because he hasn't even won a conference championship.... ANYWHERE. All that stuff is cool. Can you win on a consistent basis? Really, really good coaches win. Especially on the lower levels of college football, and they do it quickly. If you can't win and do so convincingly more times than not -- I don't want you coaching at FSU. I don't give a damn if you're whatever color Kevin Bacon was when he turned into Hollow Man. If we hire Pruitt, Taggart, Jesus and the 12 disciples, and they're not successful, I want them gone. I'd need to see a lot more winning from dude before I'd feel like he was a can't miss. He hasn't stayed in any place for a long period of time in fairness to him -- so as of now -- I'm observing him.

What?!?!?! That type of thinking will have you chasing your tail. Jimbo won absolutely nothing, didn't even have head coaching experience when he took over.....how that work out? These programs are terrible before someone like Taggert steps in. He's a change agent and a maintainer (left the cupboard stocked for Charlie Strong). The only thing you need to see out of a coach at these small schools is can they make progress and make the team relevant. This man was in south Florida and beating Miami for some players! Jimbo has been in a recruiting hotbed and without generational talents in Jameis and Dalvin, he's basically a 9 wins/year coach. And instead of getting the hesitation that Taggert is getting, he's a hot commodity. Frost has head coached all of 24 games and he's all the rave right now. Nevermind that Taggert walked into WKU while they were on a 26 game losing streak and made them bowl eligible in the next 2 seasons. Nevermind that Taggert walked into USF following Skip producing a 3 win team and leaving the cupboard bare with players. All he did was snatch the #1 recruiting class in the conference 2 years in a row and by year 3 was bowl eligible again. But for some reason.....the brother has to show you more, huh?

Internal friction between Florida State football coach Jimbo Fisher and key stakeholders in the athletics program will likely be a key factor in his ongoing stay-or-go saga, according to multiple sources within and close to the university.
The football coach has three key relationships,” one of those sources said. “The president of the university, the athletics director and the president of the Boosters."

"Only one of those is healthy.”

That one healthy relationship is between Fisher and FSU President John Thrasher, hired in 2014.

While Thrasher recently told the Florida Times-Union that the eight-year coach is “good as gold” and can stay “forever,” he acknowledged the issue in a prepared statement to the Tallahassee Democrat Tuesday.

“There’s always personal dynamics in play in these situations,” Thrasher said.

Fisher has routinely dealt with Thrasher instead of Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Stan Wilcox, sources told the Democrat. That has been the case during the courtship of Fisher by Texas A&M for its head coach job, which is being handled internally by Thrasher. There also is a historical precedent for high-profile coaches working directly with the president.

Wilcox told the Democrat in a prepared statement he has a "good relationship" with Fisher.

“First and foremost, Jimbo is as good a coach as there is in college football,” Wilcox said. “He and I have a good relationship. We both share a passion for the well-being of our student-athletes.”

Another complicating factor is the relationship between Fisher and Seminole Boosters, Inc. President Andy Miller, according to multiple sources.

“They just don’t like each other,” said one of four people associated with the university and its athletics program. They spoke to the Democrat on the condition they not be named because of the tenuous nature of the negotiations with Fisher
.

While published reports from Houston continue to indicate Fisher has agreed in principle to a deal, Fisher has declined to comment on the Aggies’ job. He also did not return comment for this story.

Fisher is unhappy with the Boosters’ focus on projects other than football operations, according to sources.

Miller told the Democrat Tuesday the Boosters’ role is to raise money for the advancement of the university, including all 20 of its men’s and women’s sports teams, and football.

He said the Boosters respond to the priorities as articulated by the athletic director and president.

As for capital projects, we have been responsive to coach Fisher’s facility requests including the indoor practice facility, locker rooms, coaches offices, player lounge and student housing for football and are actively fund-raising for his most recent request for a football facility that is currently under architectural study by the athletic department,” Miller said.

Thrasher defended the setup between the athletics department and the Boosters, which serves as the fund-raising arm of FSU’s teams.

“This structure has been in place since the Boosters were founded,” Thrasher said. “It has served us well, and I don't see any issues that reasonable adults could not work through.

"How many football coaches have we had in the last 40 years?”

The Boosters has raised and spent $150 million toward facilities just for football since 2012 and more than $400 million since the early 1990s.

The organization annually transfers $22 million to the athletics department for all its programs.

In addition to raising operating funds, facility gifts and endowments, the Boosters also funds long-term debt of $10 million annually on facilities already built.

Miller said Wilcox has also asked the Boosters to raise funds for additional athletic department priorities including a new golf course, basketball and baseball facilities, new scoreboards for several teams as well as additional projects in all sports.

The Boosters have also been actively fundraising for the football facility requested by Fisher and have received the first seven-figure leadership gift. They are currently making proposals to several other prospective donors

I think Jimbo is gone, but he's doing his team a solid. He's gonna finish the season with them. And I find that admirable. Even with all of these rumors swirling around, during player interviews today, they all still mirrored Jimbo's message. They're still bought in, even though I think they know what's up. That Gatorade bath Derwin gave Jimbo after the Florida game spoke volumes. My only issue now is that us fans have been given all this time to talk ourselves into life after Jimbo. I'm sure half the fan base will be actually disappointed if Jimbo stays now. There's been no indication that he even wants the job, but almost everyone I've talked to is talking as if Willie is already our coach :pachaha:

Whichever way it goes, I hope it works out for the best.

My uncle was like "so who you think Willie will bring with him to coach the defense.."? Lol.

nikkas n a lot of fun CAC fans not fukking with Taggert is utterly confusing. The dude has come in an improved teams where ever he's been. Ppl are steady saying "well, he hasn't really proven much and won at a major school...he's a risk"
shyt Jimbo was a risk. He wasn't a head coach before coming here and having Nick Saban heading the charge plays a major role. With the talent we already have here and the recruits that are said to be signing here any competent coach can come in a win right away.
We just need a reset! This journey has been a mutually pleasing one. FSU got a championship and major upgrades with facilities... Jimbo got a championship and a chance to make upwards of 7.5 mil a year.

This decision would have been made to leave if his family wasnt involved. Two kids in school, an ex-wife who has custody of the kids ect..

Fisher is full of shyt. Those facilities are looking great and have been updated. His coaching is the only problem. I believe he is leaving. FSU is byke if he does.

Like i said, he wanna leave cool. But don’t make up this bullshyt about you not getting everything you wanted. They’ve bent over backwards including operating in the black (oops, meant red) to get the damn IPF built. He just not getting everything at the pace he wants it. Maybe Monk was the only muthafukka that could check him

He didn't come up with his end of the deal. FSU should be like Bama and shyt I'll put Clemson up there too as going to playoffs every year. There is absolutely no excuse for them not to be with the recruits they got. shyt even this year they would have made it with a coach with common sense.

Fisher is out dated and stubborn. He never addressed the coaching staff like he was supposed after 2014. We need innovative coaches. Not one stuck in the 70's

FSU about to be lit :wow:

Report: Florida State starts background work on Willie Taggart

I bet 2018 season for FSU is going to be bananas. Smart coaching. He will have an OC. He will have a great DC. He will make adjustments. Taggart is simply a problem solver. Ran a whole new offense at USF to fit the personal instead of doing the pro style offense he likes.

"Fisher’s biggest gripe is the expectation he and FSU compete with Ohio State’s Urban Meyer, Alabama’s Nick Saban and Clemson’s Dabo Swinney — who have won the past three national championships after FSU’s 2013 title — without the resources the other programs have provided for their football teams."

Somebody help me with this. So not having a football facility only is the reason why he can't win chips and be in the playoffs every year?

How the fukk does that even make sense? :mindblown:

How about being a stubborn dikk by not having an OC?

How about being a stubborn dikk by not firing Kelly and Trickett?

Those things are the reasons why FSU isn't going to the playoffs and winning chips. FSU gets just as many great recruits like the rest so nobody is buying that resources bull shyt. I swear this guy couldn't be gone fast enough.

The straw that did it for me was after the North Carolina game in 16. Where dude had to pass out "I promise to play hard letters" to the team. Talk about embarrassing on so many levels.. to where you lose the locker room/team that bad you have to beg the to play hard at FLORIDA STATE.
Even during the lost season playing hard wasn't the problem, the problem was they just sucked.
Jimbo was wearing thin on me before that..but that n this season did it. It's cool to be loyal but not to high paid, underachieving coaches. I think he going to leave bc he can't fire terrible friends on the staff

Man if Mario Cristobal comes with Willie, the O-line will be infinitely better plus the crootin trail would be sewed up. All that momentum the U had would be quashed in one off season. Don't fukk this up Jimbo. Go ahead and leave, we appreciate what you've done, and administration.....please get Willie here.

I keep telling y'all. It ain't the players it's the coaches.
