Inside Intel on Jalen Hall's official visit to FSU
Find out where things stand between Jalen Hall and Florida State after his official visit.

Long Beach (CA) Poly fours-star wide receiver Jalen Hall made his official visit to Florida State this weekend. The 6-foot-4, 192-pound receiver had been a long time target of Willie Taggart during his time at Oregon, but only recently started considering FSU once Taggart was hired.

Hall arrived in Tallahassee on Saturday at 2pm. The reason for the late start was due to a test that Hall needed to take on Friday. He departed at 3pm on Sunday. While on campus Hall was hosted by fellow 2018 recruits Amari Gainer and Jaiden Woodbey. Both were early enrollees for FSU and now on campus as they get ready to start their spring semester at FSU. Gainer, Woodbey and Hall are familiar with each other from the camp/7on7 circuits.

I’m told the visit went very well and was very busy. It was about getting Hall familiar with FSU’s campus, facilities and city, in just one day. The FSU staff would have liked to have him on campus for a full two days, but they fit everything in that Hall needed to see.

Oregon remains the biggest competition for FSU when it comes to Hall’s recruitment. From what I’m hearing there’s still work to be done with Hall. He was all set to go to Oregon when Taggart was there, now it’s about getting Hall comfortable with Taggart at Florida State. The battle for Hall is not over. I expect a trio of FSU coaches to be in California this weekend for an in-home visit with Hall. He’s mentioned that he’d like to decide soon, but there’s still not timetable on exactly when he’ll make his announcement.

Might be time to put the lights out on George Campbell. :francis: Wasn't his last injury supposed to be pretty severe? And the way people talk about Terry I got high hopes for him.

Really hoping they get Thompson and the Harrison kid outta Seattle. As for Hall its crazy dudes film did actually look better as a sophomore than as a jr/sr. They saying he may need to go somewhere where he can be pushed.

Harrison and Thompson would be a dream close at WR. Harrison is a legit 4.3 monster with the ball in his hands.

I’ll say it until I’m proven wrong, with our past history getting kids from out there, I don’t trust Cali kids at FSU

FSU OC Walt Bell visiting 4-star WR in Texas today
Walt Bell visiting an important WR target today.
Noles247.com has learned that Florida State offensive coordinator Walt Bell will be in the Houston area today to visit with four-star wide receiver Joshua Moore.

Moore is coming off of an official visit to Texas this past weekend and will be in Tallahassee this coming weekend for an official visit.

Moore is a long-time target of the Seminoles, dating back about a year. He was committed to Nebraska for a period of time, but now the primary teams involved in his recruitment are FSU, Oregon and Texas.

Moore has not decided on a decision date. He’s likely to announce on Signing Day.

Not sure about landing jitt.. But if we get Harrison, Thompson, Hall and another good one i'll be happy

Tennessee commit has plans to officially visit Florida State
Florida State to get a visit from a Tennessee commitment.

Buford (Ga.) three-star running back Anthony Grant, a long-time Tennessee commitment, was offered by Florida State on Friday.

Now the 5-foot-11, 202-pound prospect, who could play on either side of the ball, has plans to check out the Seminoles.

Grant told GoVols247.com that he plans to officially visit FSU this upcoming weekend for what will likely be his final visit.

He “was surprised” by his offer from the Seminoles last week, and he doesn’t “really” know anyone on Willie Taggart’s staff, but he’s interested in seeing what FSU has to offer.

“They just want me to come down and see the school. It’s going to be my first time (there),” Grant said. “I know they’re a great school, and they have a lot of tradition there. I just didn’t want to pass up on a great school like that, so I just want to go down there and visit the school.”

North Carolina and Virginia Tech are also in the mix for Grant, who is fresh off an official visit to Tennessee. He discusses that visit and his commitment in-depth here.

Grant is ranked as the No. 16 running back in the nation by the 247Sports.com Composite.

FSU staff in Ohio today to visit 4-star LB Xavier Peters
The 'Noles coaching staff is visiting one of their top linebackers on the board.
Noles247 has learned that Florida State defensive coordinator Harlon Barnett and linebackers coach Raymond Woodie will be in Ohio today to visit four-star Kentucky linebacker commitment Xavier Peters.
The staff has made Peters a priority since taking over at FSU and are working to get him in on an official visit. Both the UF and FSU staff's feel Peters will visit them this weekend. Obviously he can't be at two places at once and one of these two schools will get the visit this weekend. Miami is also involved in Peters recruitment and he's could be taking a visit to check out the 'Canes on February 2nd.
Check back with Noles247 later today for some possible clarity on where Peters will visit this weekend.

All these 2019 visits and it don't seem like this staff is paying attention to them Georgia boys in 2019, especially heavy FSU fan Jashawn Sheffield. 5* star WR is a need and I haven't heard anything from this staff about even hollering at him or the Grayson boys yet.

Yeah shyt has been crazy... But this staff is in a no win THIS year. I rock with them going after kids they have a relationship with instead of maybe kids. I won't even count this ranking or class this year with them having to clean up Jimmybob's mess. I'm sure next year they'll be heavy in GA and FL/Dade with the connections we have on staff. I haven't agreed with them going after kids we have NO relationship with ut I guess its cool to put feelers out and see if a kid may be interested. Grayson is a BIG factory for good prospects. So i'm sure they'll hit that base. Hopefully we keep our pipeline with those TX schools Jimmybo had somewhat

This has been crazy with the decommits and all that shyt.. we good though going from 70's to the 20's with our rankings. I expect a top 5 class next year no doubt

Three Things I Know, Three Things I Think: FSU Recruiting
The latest scoop on Tre'Shaun Harrison, Xavier Peters, James Miller, Antione Green and more

Noles247’s Josh Newberg provides some thoughts and commentary on the latest with Florida State recruiting.

Three Things I know

I know FSU loves Tre'Shaun Harrison’s game. The recruitment of Harrison is more about his ability and talent than it is about a pre-existing relationship. He was the top target for Willie Taggart at Oregon and I’m told that after the FSU staff settled in and re-evaluated the receiver board, Harrison graded out on top. At 6-foot-2, 190-pounds Harrison has the size and speed FSU needs in this 2018 class. Harrison got a visit from three FSU coaches on Monday and will be in for an official visit on February 2nd. FSU’s biggest competition will come from Oregon.

I know FSU needs to get Antoine Green back on campus. A source close to Green’s recruitment tells me UNC is number one and FSU number two right now. Green visited FSU the first weekend Taggart was hired and the ‘Noles did not have a receiver coach in place. Since then he took trips to UNC and UGA. Both teams are now in play, but UNC is the team FSU has to knock off. UNC has the lead and for FSU to overcome that an unofficial visit before Signing Day is a must, in my opinion. FSU receivers coach David Kelly will be doing an in-home visit with Green tomorrow. We’ll have to see if a visit can be agreed upon.

I know the coaching staff is gearing up for a big 2019 recruiting class. As you’ve seen on the site the past few days, the FSU staff is all over the country touching base with the top 2019 recruits at each position. The focus remains on finishing out 2018 strong, but the coaches know 2019 will be their first true recruiting cycle. We’re hearing a Junior Day will be set up for the second or third weekend in February. The staff would rather pocket extra scholarships in 2018 and save the for 2019 then take a prospect that isn’t FSU caliber just to fill up this year’s class.

Three Things I think

I think FSU will host Xavier Peters this weekend. The Florida State coaching staff went up to Ohio to meet with four-star Kentucky linebacker commitment yesterday. I got word this morning that after the visit FSU is still expecting him to take an official visit this weekend. However, I checked wth Luke Stampini of our Gator site and the UF staff is also expecting Peters in for an official visit. This is one of those situations where we might not know for sure until the weekend, but as of this morning I do know the FSU staff is confident they’re going to get him in this weekend.

I think Jaylen Waddle and Olaijah Griffin are off the board. Yesterday Walt Bell was in Texas to visit with wide receiver Joshua Moore. That was expected, but the lack of visit to see Jaylen Waddle tells me he is no longer a target for the Seminoles. Today FSU is out in California for a visit with Jalen Hall. Based on what I’m told I do not expect the staff to meet with Olaijah Griffin. If they leave Cali without meeting with Griffin then I think it’s safe to take both recruits off the board. It’s not for a lack of effort, it’s due to a lack of interest on the prospects end.

I think we’ll know tomorrow whether or not James Miller gets an offer. Florida State is very intrigued with the 6-foot-1, 225-pound middle linebacker out of Armwood high school. I’m told the staff has been going over all his film and is debating on whether or not to offer. They love his physicality and speed, but want to make sure he’s got the size to be durable enough to play in the middle at the highest level. Tomorrow the staff will be at his school to visit with Warren Thompson and Malcolm Lamar. I believe if an offer is to go out to Miller, tomorrow will be the day. Stay tuned.

I really hope they can close with Harrison, Thompson, and Hall at WR. That Antoine Green ship has sailed. And I hope we can get Xavier on campus this weekend. Those Gaytor fans on Twitter will be insufferable if they get him on campus over us. I'm ok with however this class finishes out as long as Foster, Thompson, and Harrison are apart of it.

Yesir. Hall makes me nervous as hell tho... Not because of anything about his play or drop of productivity. But with him probably not willing to move across the country and leave his younger sibs alone. I watched a documentary with his Long Beach Poly team and the feeling I got was that he's a MAJOR part in helping his fam out. He seems very close to them and im not sure he's ready to up and leave them. He spoke about it taking awhile to trust people bc of his past dealings... so if Taggart gets him and his fam to trust him and staff then... its a good thing Him and Willie have a relationship back to Oregon.

The Greene thing is what it is, there was no relationship there when taggart came aboard (wish the kid the best, he's a dynamic WR and will do well wherever he goes). I dont blame the kid for going with who he feels more comfortable with.

I truly believe we get the peters kid on campus this weekend, the staff made it very known they're seriously interested in jitt and theres a serious need for his position. He's the perfect type of LB we need in the fold.. big, physical and can run. Hopefully we get chapman as well at DE.

Harrison, Thompson, Malcolm Lamar, hall, foster, peters, chapman, the(RB) washington kid Deion cool with along with others are my wish for this class
