Cutting bonuses to insure you have a better chance of fulfilling your future obligations in the event of these dumb ass tariffs is common sense.

If it were that dire, they would've had this planned out like 2 QTRs ago, and notified their employees like 6-months in advance that this was a possibility, not wait until a month before they were set to disperse them.

This is BS. The company was already going to not pay out Christmas bonuses, they just found an easy excuse. It's already November. They either had it budgeted or they didn't.

If it is a "Christmas Bonus", it's discretionary and the CEO can do wtf he wants as he sees fit. Especially in a private company.

If it's a publicly traded company and they've been accruing this bonus all fiscal year (and plan to deduct this bonus pool amount from Corp taxes), then yes they must pay it out according to the company bonus plan. Also, they'd be paying it out a month or two after the end of the FY.
