If it were that dire, they would've had this planned out like 2 QTRs ago, and notified their employees like 6-months in advance that this was a possibility, not wait until a month before they were set to disperse them.

If it is a "Christmas Bonus", it's discretionary and the CEO can do wtf he wants as he sees fit. Especially in a private company.
If it's a publicly traded company and they've been accruing this bonus all fiscal year (and plan to deduct this bonus pool amount from Corp taxes), then yes they must pay it out according to the company bonus plan. Also, they'd be paying it out a month or two after the end of the FY.

Chinese retailated against US exporters which caused US agriculture exports to drop like crazy. They also said fukk it we ain't buying anything then. US farmers soybean products dropped by 75%. Farmers lost crazy money and i think some went for bankruptcy.
