Republicans, Trump, and his billionaire friends especially are that avaricious. Their callous indifference to the suffering of every day people is well-documented throughout history. They instituted tariffs under his last administration and it was disastrous for the steel industry, and industries that relied on it. And people lined up again to elect him despite that. Why does the GOP get this benefit of the doubt from some of you?

And would it be a gift? For example, Trump was a disaster for unions and the labor movement in general, yet that did not turn them off from supporting him in vast numbers.
