If that’s even true, that company is dumb and/or getting over on their employees. Why purchase in bulk when you don’t even have concrete guidelines on how the tariffs will be imposed?
breh, everyone on the fukking planet knows that putting tariffs on everything is gonna make the price of TVs and Iphones go up 30%. there's no universe where they let Trump do something that stupid and politically damaging
Yeap remember when the threat of the shipyard strike happened a lot of companies bought extra inventory so that there won't be any delays for the holidays. I don't think a lot of people understand that these companies operate on a much more global scale. It takes a while for stuff to come from overseas. These orders a placed months in advance. They're getting ahead of the waveSupply Chain Management for a mfg company will make or break their business. A sudden spike in COGS would have them operating in the negative in the short term and shutting down in the long term.
Or they were waiting for the results of the election. Once they saw Trump was winning the put that order in for the extra inventory before the tariffs kicked in. That means them bonuses are gone.If it were that dire, they would've had this planned out like 2 QTRs ago, and notified their employees like 6-months in advance that this was a possibility, not wait until a month before they were set to disperse them.
Cutting bonuses is common sense, as well as restructuring, but the timing of it calls BS.
shyt, the Suez canal was blocked for a few days and that fukked up Supply Chains and delivery times everywhereYeap remember when the threat of the shipyard strike happened a lot of companies bought extra inventory so that there won't be any delays for the holidays. Sounds like BS from the company and if it is true they will still charge consumers more if the tariffs kick in
