breh, everyone on the fukking planet knows that putting tariffs on everything is gonna make the price of TVs and Iphones go up 30%. there's no universe where they let Trump do something that stupid and politically damaging

We live in a country where all unions backed a union buster President. Half of the electorate would let Trump sleep with their daughter if it meant 'winning'.

Supply Chain Management for a mfg company will make or break their business. A sudden spike in COGS would have them operating in the negative in the short term and shutting down in the long term.
Yeap remember when the threat of the shipyard strike happened a lot of companies bought extra inventory so that there won't be any delays for the holidays. I don't think a lot of people understand that these companies operate on a much more global scale. It takes a while for stuff to come from overseas. These orders a placed months in advance. They're getting ahead of the wave

If it were that dire, they would've had this planned out like 2 QTRs ago, and notified their employees like 6-months in advance that this was a possibility, not wait until a month before they were set to disperse them.

Cutting bonuses is common sense, as well as restructuring, but the timing of it calls BS.
Or they were waiting for the results of the election. Once they saw Trump was winning the put that order in for the extra inventory before the tariffs kicked in. That means them bonuses are gone.

Waiting to see what happens can mean the difference between spending $2M you had on hand for Xmas bonuses or borrowing $3M in a pinch to offset tariffs you are sure will happen
