Never knew the coli was so pro shut up and dribble :leon:

this isn't shut up and dribble......

League sources told Yahoo Sports that several high-profile players are planning on using the league’s resumption as a platform to be creative in promoting and supporting the Black Lives Matter movement, with the eyes of the nation focused on the NBA for an extended period of time.

There’s no bigger platform than playing and being able to get your message out there,” a high-ranking black executive told Yahoo Sports, but he was not aware of the players’ specific plans to spread their message.

Is it about the bubble or civil rights? If it's solely about Civil Rights, why even mention anything as trivial as the bubble situation?
Clearly for george hill, myles turner, avery bradley and dwight howard it's about civil rights, cac. They never mentioned the bubble in any of their quotes that you're ignoring. You keep clinging to some unidentified agent and his estimate like the sad little cac you are.

Fam...it’s not a stoppage tho...because the leagues BEEN stopped.....

And most associate it with Corona....so now in a month and a half the league is gonna be able to reassert the reasoning for the NEW stoppage reasons (George Floyd) and make it stick heavy and resonate with viewers...nah

it will just be the nba didn’t finish the season due to corona to many.........it won’t be significant....

definitely not as significant as have ESPN TNT ETC and others pushing BLM every broadcast.....
Every other sport is already headed back to work.

If they refuse to return, the reasons why will be two things instead of just one. And that's more than important enough considering what previous opportunities have provided. Its significant and leverage worth utilizing.

Whether there was this groundswell to demand social change or not there were vocal fans who were fine with scrapping the season.

Lol @ their platform is weak. Lebron can fart and it gets reported. He has the power with his own damn media platform. How many shows and movies has this man created and produced? How many hollywood contacts does he have? He can organize a telethon, a we are the world album, and a march, whatever the fukk you can think of for a month straight if he pleased with all of his brands supporting him. Yall say he's the most powerful athlete ever but then want him to shut up and dribble Cereal box championship ring.

The entire world is focused on America at this moment for this one issue. Companies have been coming out kissing black folks asses for the past 2 weeks. Politicians are looking to end Qualified Immunity for cops. No time is stronger than now for everyone.

I agree now is a strong time....I agree about the politicians and the push for cop changes, companies kissin ass, all of that......but I just don’t see how b-ball shutting down from a month from now for 2months after already being shut down for another reason is effective communication for the George Floyd police brutality/systemic racism issue

Get in from of camers...Rock BLM tees, the league was the first to be on that boat from a sporting sense anyway....have 5 minute moment of silence each game, ring a bell, black out the arenas.....make the public never forget through the forum.......interview BLM leaders at halftime, talk to victimized families before games.....there’s a million ways these players can make demands to make this resonate that are far more effective than them tweeting and goin on Instagram live....cuz unless I’m following them personally, I’d never know.....

And that stuff has been weak as fukk in the past :dead: they've literally already done I Can't Breathe tshirts and had player-led commercials highlighting racism, gun violence, and all sorts of other topics. Open mics before tip offs or at half time and all that. Came and went.

To be dissatisfied with those products as well as their impact is completely natural and warranted. Belittling the effort to potentially do more in a situation like this though? :francis: Cmon. Risk isn't easy but its necessary.

Yeah me and another kat posted this on one of the previous pages.

Also its no surprise about the player rep info. This was mentioned during the last lock out. Kats rarely even talk to the player reps.

Its like in the real world folks don't even deal with their union rep until shyt hits the fan.

So you're saying it's impossible for 350+ to have different concerns?

Who has said that there aren't multiple concerns amongst this large group of players?

You’re an NBA player and you decide to step away. What is the social change or trigger that you wanna see that would compel you to feel like it’s ok to resume playing?

if we keep it real, protesting isn't gonna have that much of an impact either; it's the rioting that's really shaking things up
