The Muhammad Alis of their generation won't put money before their people
:wow:

But maybe all they wanna do is wear their shirts inside out

There's growing concern re NBA's bubble plan. Players want more freedom of movement while in Orlando. One agent estimates that 2/3 of the top 40 would refuse to play under the proposed restrictions.

this has nothing to do with the plight of black folks:mjlol:

"I'm paid millions of dollars to go out there and perform at a high level so part of it's like, 'Man, you've got to suck it up and go out there and do what you're paid to do,' but the other part of it is like, 'Listen man this basketball s---, I love it, it's part of what makes me, me, but it's not all of what makes me, me, either' and I have a responsibility as a young black professional athlete to advocate for this change."
Myles Turner

"Now, when you see all of this, you're like, 'I have to protect myself. I can't wait on them to protect me.' I see what they're doing. They don't give two f---- about us," Hill said. "If you're able to put your knee on someone's neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, you have no heart. You have no pulse. If you can smile and put your hands in your pocket and the ones that are around you that didn't do anything, are not human either."

Yea these dudes ain't thinking about basketball right now. They see what's going on and they're sick of it too.

you sound like an idiot pushing an agenda:camby:

You sound like a cac.

Agenda? I'm quoting the players. Why does it bother you that some of these black players value the lives of their people more than a check?

"That's a hard question when everyone just says, 'Shut up and dribble,'" he continued, referring to an admonishment that Fox News personality Laura Ingraham made when LeBron James criticized President Trump. "No, I'm not going to shut up and dribble. I don't care if you take my contract, I don't care if you say that I'm this or that, I'm human. I have a heart. I have a pulse. I have emotions. I'm a man. I have kids. I'm a father. I have a wife. I have friends. I have loved ones. It means (something) to me. I'm not going to just shut up and dribble."

the ether
I was at the DMV yesterday and the majority of people weren’t wearing masks even after one of the workers spoke of a situation the day before where someone came into the building sick.

Sometimes they're just straight ignorant. I had an employee come in AFTER he called and told me he had a fever. I just assumed that he wasn't coming in when he said that and I guess I never made myself clear enough even though we had a clear policy of staying at home isolated if you had the slightest reason to believe you might have been exposed. When I found out he showed up I sent his ass home almost immediately, he wasn't around for more than 15-20 minutes. Goes to get tested the next day, results come back COVID-positive. Thank god he was wearing a mask the whole time and we tried to stay away from him cause we already knew what was up, but I still canceled shyt for the entire next ten days after that just in case he had exposed someone else on the team (it seems that he didn't).

fyi he is back from the hospital and negative now. Good guy, just doesn't understand the rules.

They will not have a bigger platform than the bubble season if they want to get a message out.

you're missing the fact that those players want more FREEDOM from the bubble; they aren't worried about their health

....don't use black peoples plight to cover up what's really going on:hhh:

I'm not missing or using anything. I'm literally posting quotes from players who have come out and havent said shyt about a bubble, but have directly referenced george floyd and what's going on. You keep skipping over those tweets, referencing an agent's estimate of a guess:mjlol: talkin about "bbbbut the bubble. They want freedom". I'm posting direct quotes from players.

Does George Hill's and Myles Turner's stance bother you, cac?

They ended up shutting the building down for the day and ending up sanitizing. Still opened the bathroom the next day which I thought was strange since they had no one sanitizing or cleaning after each person left.

When are you going to let him come back to work and how will you deal with the paranoia from other employees about it? I have been reading that people have been treating COVID-19 survivors like they are social pariahs when it’s time to get back from isolation.

So one doctor told him to self-isolate at home for another 14 days even though he already tested negative. That seems excessive but we don't need him at the moment so there's no big harm in being extra cautious. The rest of our staff/partners are all either very well-educated or just trusts what we tell them so there shouldn't be any problem at all when he comes back.

So there won't be any media coverage? No press conferences? No opportunities for players to speak to a national audience?
:dwillhuh:

What will they be doing during the game to get their message across? Or are you talking about a 10 minute post game press conference? We are in 2020. Getting a message out is literally the easiest thing a celebrity can do. Media coverage isn't an issue esp regarding George floyd, blm and everything that's going on.

And players are talking about marching, protesting, helping fight voter suppression....this is ground work done amongst the people.

Yall really think these dudes were put here to entertain you
