Why is that bullshyt? If they continue under the current situation this entire free agency class and maybe even next year's would be fukked with the cap dropping crazy low. I think 25/30 teams would be in the luxury tax which owners won't stand for. If the season isn't finished every team will lose a bunch of money unless a new CBA is negotiated. At least if they finish the season they can recoup a lot of the lost money back and try to maintain status quo.

Haven’t we always heard that the CBA was going to have to be torn up after a season is over? Why lie and change it up now by saying it won’t be if the season isn’t finished?

Attendance likely won’t be at full capacity next season anyways, so I highly doubt that owners will want to start the new season under the same agreement. It seems like a ploy on the media’s part to get the players to play as they have a vested financial interest in it happening.

I also think it’s a hit job by the media to make Kyrie the fall guy if the season ends up cancelled. He isn’t the only player hesitant to finish the season, so why is he the only name that ends up leaked?
