Things change quickly breh, last month there wasn't civil unrest and the media was talking about the nation reopening. Fast forward we just finished two weeks of protest and now reports of the virus coming back strong :francis:
Yeah, everything going on now following George Floyd brings reasons to re-assess priorities.
COVID-19 has always been a threat and the level of it hasn't changed since (hence the need and parameters of going into a bubble) so that being reason to change their minds now from last month doesn't make sense. But seeing how every player didn't get to make that vote on returning, that seems to be where the discord of it lies.

“What message are we sending by agreeing to this during this time?” a black player told Yahoo Sports. “We’re out here marching and protesting, and yet we all leave our families in these scary times and gather to perform at a place where the owners won’t be at? What type of sense does that make? We’ll be going backwards. That place isn’t that magical.”

Sources said several players have been reluctant to express their views in fear of opposing the superstars who are adamant about playing if proper safety measures are in place.

From this perspective its definitely bad optics for the league. Guys should go public with their beliefs, I don't know why they're worried about the superstars who were probably the same ringleaders that thought they were doing something by turning their warm-ups inside out after that Sterling fiasco.

Well a lot of these superstars are the hand that's feeding them. I hate to mention him specifically but LeBron, whose pretty much been at the forefront of returning to play has like what, 20 players signed to Klutch Sports alone, so if you're one of those players you might not be willing to speak up against his word.

Then you got guys like Udonis Haslem who are technically on the return to play roster but may not want to go for various reasons, but going against the stars/owners of their team could just lead to getting cut from their active roster.

Lebron didn’t try to get Melo signed and CP3 got him pushed out of Houston. They don’t give a damn about Melo’s feelings.

All this is just posturing, trying to get more freedom and perks down there. Same dudes acting afraid of COVID been outside., i saw video of James Harden riding a 4-Wheeler or something like that. These dudes aren’t turning down paychecks. They’ll be there.
Harden and Dantoni got melo pushed out , cp3 had no pull there . Also there’s a big difference in risking your life for yourself and risking your life for yoir job

My Pops Forever RIP
Look they gonna play because they already told the world they would......all these rumors of unease and lack of desire mean nothing, they told the public they’re back.....can’t walk that back now
Euroleague didn’t even pretend like they could have everyone protected and they coulda continued that season anywhere.

Just cancel this season and take the L.

Start the new season on Christmas, should be plenty of time to work out the logistics of this shyt.

Most these dudes are young, single, and rich....they ain't staying in no damn bubble getting a qtip stuck up their nose every other day for 2months with no sex....

It's over, ring is tainted anyway
The logistics will be the same on Christmas as they are today because there will not be a vaccine. If they can't agree to a bubble now, there will not be a 2020-21 season because it will require the same thing.

Right now is the easiest time for a bubble because there are fewer teams and it will be shorter with teams leaving every couple weeks if they resume play.

at the end of the day, the superstars, team owners, & league officials are all capitalists...they will say, do, & sacrifice whomever and whatever to make that last cent :yeshrug:
