Because people don't understand that what they grew up with isn't natural. Like people who grew up in the 70s act like they lived in the natural world when there were big cities, electricity, cars, and planes. The same is for 80's, and 90s nikkas who grew up in a more robot world.

Women that weren't working were rich. Most people did not live like that. This image of a woman sitting at home watching soap operas all day is new and it was invented to sell shyt like toasters, washing machines, vacuum cleaners etc. Through much of human history EVERYONE worked. Most people lived on farms and anyone who has ever set foot on a farm knows that as soon as you're old enough to do *something* you're expected to do that.

Not everyone wants to live with their parents and extended family. I like my space, and my privacy. I would not want to live with my parents, or other adults other than my wife. Kids need two parent households, and other adults don’t replace your mother and father. It also helps shape your view of relationships. If you never saw a man taking care of your mother, you’re probably the type if a woman asks you to lift something heavy, you say, “What would you do if I wasn’t here? Or, “What you gonna do for me?” A woman raised that way will always challenge what you say, for the heck of it. Can people grow and evolve? Sure, but never date expecting someone to change.
And nuclear families are working just fine for everyone else as far as both parents being in the home.
