Why is everyone mentioning polygamy? I think OP means "it takes a village" should be embraced vs it's all on the mom and dad

I honestly think a lot of American marriages would be more successful this way

Seems like shytt goes left when kids come into the picture
I think it can be both. I came from a nuclear family but my cousins, aunts babysat me. Uncles were vital in my development. I haven't heard that view where its all in my the parents. Maybe Black people have a different version of nuclear idk.

Cause it's really only been the tradition for cacs :manny:

Everybody else has lived successfully within extended families and in multi-generational households/communities

Yet time and time again, the decline of the nuclear family is tied to many of the issues we see on the daily

Crime, LGBT existence, and poverty but the same individuals would likely be under communal living had they been born outside of europe centuries before

So what gives? :jbhmm:
out of curiousity how does nuclear families compare to single parent homes of both types in terms of incarceration rates?

Because it's viewed as the standard image of a white American family that is shipped abroad via TV and movies. Propaganda. Clear propagenda. And according to Project 2025, they will incentives the nuclear family, while punishing the single mother. Also possibly jail women fir abortions. It's all funky, and about to get way crazier.

Black families would benefit from abandoning some aspects from the nuclear family stance,

We need to promote more group economics

We should be purchasing property with siblings / cousins

If your mom /dad/ or parents are paying rent

And your cousin’s mom/dad or parents are paying rent

Come together buy a multi family house build equity

While research shows that children from single-parent households, especially those facing economic hardship, are statistically at a higher risk for incarceration, it's important to remember that family structure is just one factor. Economic stability, access to education, and the quality of parenting and support systems play a much larger role in determining outcomes like incarceration. Children from nuclear, single-parent or other non-traditional homes who grow up in stable, loving environments with strong community support are less likely to engage in criminal behavior. Ultimately, it's not just about whether a family is nuclear or single-parent, but the resources and quality of care that make a significant difference.

The OP mentioned crime, poverty, LGBTQ, etc.
I know and what I mentioned has a larger effect on crime and poverty outcomes than family structure alone. Sexual orientation and gender identity are not determined by family structure.
