Quite the social commentary at the end :mjpls:

honestly he needed to apologize after everything. his last few posts before that were completely wack, he's been off the grid 100%, insulting people, urging people to "read his site" instead of clarifying what he's written, which is absurd given the terrible organization(or lack thereof) of his unprofessional ass blogspot. Yo I really like the LG program. I think its actually easy to get the basics down and not difficult to maintain.... But this dude's shiftiness about his nonexistent book and business got me :rudy:

the way that post sounded made it seem like he was neglecting clients too, i bet they are mad as fukk after having dropped stacks.

You sure you're against whiny/shytty posts? :mjpls:

Berkhan is hard to read honestly, tons of good info but it's laced with condescension to the reader

You can tell he's a salty person in real life

I don't know how many times I would see someone ask an innocent question only to have him come at them all sideways, and then have his disciples blindly lick his nuts and co-sign his foolishness.

It's not like dude "discovered" it or anything, and he's the only source for info on it. Then I might understand it a little. There's plenty of dudes who are writing stuff on that style of eating. Hasn't the Warrior Diet (20-4) been around for a minute?

Isn't the whole point of like half the discussion in this thread that his management of leangains and interaction with his fanbase is poor?

Nothing personal about it, his methodology is pretty much out in the open so I have no needs or expectations of the guy :heh:

I do think it would be a shame if he basically created the impetus for fasting as a trend and then dropping the ball on the money he could make just because he wasnt feeding the fanbase

Whats the history behind Berkhan is he as bad as some say? I have heard rumblings on other forums about his attitude.

So now my questions are:

1) How does a high protein+fibrous breakfast differentiate from the standard high carb breakfast? I'm pretty sure the former has shown to keep hunger at bay as it does insulin.

2) What does this say for those who feed from 8am-4pm? (the people who workout in the AM and don't wanna chug BCAA for hours, rare I know)

Ehh, now that I think about it #2 wouldnt really apply.

I don't know how many times I would see someone ask an innocent question only to have him come at them all sideways, and then have his disciples blindly lick his nuts and co-sign his foolishness.

Leangains is designed around weight training. It's why you hear so much about it now even though intermittent fasting been around for decades.

Yea, but the surge of self-entitlement was overpowering in your last post. :manny:

I wonder why there's an outcry of mistreatment all of a sudden when he's been taking clients for ~6yrs. Perhaps the redundancy of beginner questions had gotten to him? Perhaps nikkas are overly sensitive? People expecting too much? Maybe he's been like this the entire time, but the novelty of leangains blinded some? I don't know. I'm trying to understand, but a lot of the complaints don't make sense or I'm just not seeing it.

For example, the "reasoning" for the (incomplete) document leaks:
-implicit in his brand
-no book
-no methodology (how is this true?)
-consults
-has client criteria

If the above warrants an attempt to ruin a business, then we'd all be at the necks of personal trainers. :manny:

Imagine how many dumb questions he gets on a daily basis. I get enough of them and I'm not on his level.

I was more pissed about the way he used to conduct himself on FB and shyt, he kinda used to act like an ass occasionally. Plus I'm disappointed that the quality of his posts really dropped, he used to write good work. Think of me as a disgruntled consumer of his. I'd buy a book if it hit the market, sheeeit. :manny:

I think that theres a huge difference in how popular IF was 6 years ago compared to where its at now. All the big sites like Reddit, Bodybuilding, Something Awful etc have a lot more traffic on it now than ever. With that traffic comes a lot of a$$holes, either of the lazy variety or people who probably pop off on him for going against a lot of bodybuilding conventions. Now that I think about it, i can understand why he might be cranky as fukk.

It's not that you can't get the methodology. It's just that the finer points require a bit of reading around and summarizing in different posts. I dont think that justifies leaking his curriculum, although I do think he needs to summarize his stuff. Keep in mind you as a guy who's been doing weightlifting, diets, and obviously some scientific reading yourself you absorb and understand and disseminate such information way better than the majority of human beings.

I get both sides. Ultimately dude has been giving up a lot of game free, so its kind of silly to cry about him falling off. The meat of the program is still there + up, and its not even like there is much to it to begin with. But that doesnt give him carte blanche to act like an a$$hole.

when you have the potential to make great money, you gotta get used to it

look what Mehdi did with Stronglifts

if you are a science head, alot of his information just puts everything into perspective, but the average overweight dude will not understand 75% of what hes saying

If I were him I think I would write an overall advocate piece for fasting, not just leangains as a bodybuilding method. there is a decent amount of research on fasting's neuroprotective benefits for example...

Think like a Why Fasting section before he describes the leangains method. I would hope that he'd include a progression routine for lifters as well as an RPT explanation as well along with that.

I can't link any examples as it would involve me digging through his Leangains FB page. But there was enough of an issue that drove people to create an "unofficial" FB Leangains page, that didn't have his blessing or input. Basically where people following Leangains could chop up game without having Martin coming through along with his sycophants to crush their souls and tell them what they were doing was wrong because they weren't following his ideas to the letter.

One instance that stood out to me on his FB page was this cat that asked about the meal timing since he worked out late at night. He wanted to know if he should be fasted the whole day since he worked out at night. I was eager to see dude's input since I'm more of a late night gym goer myself. Anyway this dude goes ham on him, complaining about stupid questions, calling son names, he's wasting his time, blablabla. Then his nutlickers came on like "read the site, Martin can't be bothered" :comeon: I was like "all you had to say was 'read the FAQs'"... All that extra stuff made him seem real hoe-ish.

I guess this is my only gripe really. I can understand dude's pretentiousness rubbing some people the wrong way, but the lack of minute details be handed over on a silver platter can't be a reason for the hate. Read. Everything is on the website and a lot of FAQs are in the comments of the older posts where he actually responded to repetitive shyt. Google is your friend for topics you want more information on.

Too many "hold my hand" nikkas out here. :scusthov:

And yes I'm way more knowledgeable about this subject now, but all I did was read his website when I started off. My only question at the time was macros, but "high carbs/low fat/ high cals on lifting days, and low carb/high fat/ low cals on off days" was sufficient enough to drop a lot of weight and keep strength relatively the same.

Now we have leangains calculators that walk you through EVERYTHING. :wow:

:manny:

Maybe the laziness is conditioned through other programs' force-feeding any and every bit of information, throwing critical thinking in the bushes. Introduce the open-endedness of Leangains and MAYDAY MAYDAY. :lolbron:

This is just reinventing the wheel.

RPT has also been explained in the blog, almost better than the leaked documents.

I think you told us this before on SOHH :russ:

His blow up on reddit was :ohhh: Explained a lot.

So Spliff, you jumped from never having worked out or reading up on dieting right into leangains?

:ohhh:

That is crazy if true :wow:

And part of selling a successful fitness product is reinventing the wheel :lolbron:
