He got more classics

To be fair, both of them had more tracks they could've played. And it seemed like they were really more concerned with having fun trash talking than really taking it there. I mean, none of the songs below were played:

T.I.- Bring Em Out

Ruff Ryders- Scenario 2000 (yes it sounds like Wild Out, Jigga, and a few more other beats, but still)

N.O.R.E.- Banned From TV

Cassidy- My Drink and My 2 Step

Lloyd Banks- I'm So Fly

Beanie Sigel- In Da Club

Missy Elliott- Hot Boyz Remix (Tim's in NY and he doesn't even drop a hit with Nas vocals)

Ludacris- Roll Out

Petey Pablo- Raise Up (one of Tim's hypest beats)

this is why I troll you. just like your master p statements. ridiculous. It's not excuses. Swizz isn't better than any producer than anyone he has beat on stage so far production wise. When you say not as popular you must be unaware of where they sit in terms of sales. More artists have reached out to Timbaland and Just Blaze than they did swizz as well so they are more popular in the industry and charts.

:deadmanny:

you are a nerd too embrace it. no need for semantics.

this is your problem. youre bringing up sales & all this outsider chit, BECAUSE YOURE AN OUTSIDER. timbaland is really an r&b producer, and then he went on to do pop. of course his sales are higher, when hes doing songs with timberlake & Furtado, and whatever other pop chit. the fact remains, he never helmed a hip-hop project of any level of importance.

WITHIN HIP-HOP, swizz beatz cuts are generally more popular than timbaland with the CORE AUDIENCE. the fact that I have to explain this chit to you in 2018 is telling.

same thing with master p, since you brought it up. you scoffed at the fact that hes the one that blew the south up. but the chit is common knowledge to anyone that was around. looking at your avatar, you prolly think outkast or some chit like that was responsible. then you felt some type-a-way when somebody else corrected you in one of those threads, so you felt the need to follow me around trolling in multiple threads, like this one.

semantics are needed. theres a difference between having nerd-ish hobbies like posting on forums, as opposed to being a real-life nerd. all your posts in every thread, read like you only see sunlight once a week when you take the trash out. just like that tranny that youre cosigning.

All of these songs were singles though and got heavy play. With the exception of course of Banned From TV, I would expect that one to get a muted response at Summer Jam.

crowd would've popped for "banned from tv".
that was arguably his most popular beat on the streets.

and the crowd is moreso meek mill, rather than lil pump.

Are we talking "mainstream" or the core hip hop audience?

you gotta ask the dude I was responding to.

hes the one that mentioned their so-called "mainstream appeal."

Didn't Timb kind of slow down in the early to mid 2000s? After Bubba and before he came back with his pop sound in 2006? I could be wrong though.

yea he did.

he slowed down a few times that decade.

and whenever hes in a slump, he claims hes "bored" with hip-hop or some bullchit.

Timbaland only had one point in the '00's where he wasn't on and that is 2005 (album cuts only for The Game and Fat Joe) and 2008 (Flo Rida's "Elevators" was the only hit he had that was remotely Hip Hop). That is two out of 10 years.

Someone mentioned they might do a beat battle tour. I only see it working if they got some artist with them to do live versions of their songs.

Lauryn Hill is still a female rapper whose music is discussed on here even when the discussion isn't limited to female rappers. Regardless of what box you're trying to put her in, doesn't change the facts.

None of those names are brushed off. All of those women get their props on here.

And when I say appreciation thread, I'm talking about multiple appreciation threads.

Pretty much, Eve's debut not getting any love or respect on here has nothing to do with this board being sexist. Breh really trying to push a #MeToo agenda just because nobody really talks about that album on here.

Where did I say Eve didn't write?

im talking over your head about lauryn hill.

anybody can get an appreciation thread. unless they fit a certain description or down with a certain crew, theyre usually snubbed from general convos.

Eve does get appreciation threads, btw.

you used ghostwriting as a hypothetical example. that's all.

there was a point in the early '00s where he was cold and whining in the source.

You're not talking over my head. Lauryn is mentioned as a favorite MC and even someone puts among the best (male or female). That is the point. So regardless of what label you put on her, she gets love and respect from The Booth as an MC.

If anyone can get an Appreciation thread, where was the one for Eve's debut. And if she gets appreciation threads, why are you whining about this board being secist in regard to brehs saying they never saw he debut mentioned here until this thread?

Timbaland has always talked about retiring from Hip Hop and branching off. Didn't mean he was cold:

2000- Big Pimpin', Hot Boyz, Hey Papi, Ryde or Die Chick

2001 (the same year he appeared in the Source talking about retiring)- Get Ur Freak On, Raise Up, Ugly, Roll Out, Is That Your Chick

2002- Work It, helmed Missy's Under Construction, had several tracks on BP2, helmed Girl Interrupted

2003- Gossip Folks, Jump Off

2004- Dirt Off Your Shoulders, Headsprung, helmed LL's album, Xzibit had him for a single, had tracks on Luda's Red Light District

2005- no hits

2006- no hits in Hip Hop, but had tracks on albums from Young Jeezy, Snoop, Busta

2007- Make Me Better, AYO Technology, addiyional programming on Kanye's hits "Stronger" and "Good Life"

2008- no hits in Hip Hop

2009- Say Something, had multiple songs on Jay's Blueprint 3

If Timbaland is an R&B producer, why is Swizz battling him? If Timbaland is an R&B producer why is this battle getting any attention from Hip Hop period?

And Timbaland was producing platinum Hip Hop albums before he ever did a record for Nelly or JT.

And Timbaland has helmed Hip Hop albums of importance.

WITHIN HIP-HOP, swizz beatz cuts are generally more popular than timbaland with the CORE AUDIENCE. the fact that I have to explain this chit to you in 2018 is telling.

Within Hip Hop, Swizz's songs are not more popular. You even allude to this with that BS title you made. If Timbaland is beloved and Swizz is getting snubbed, that means Tim is more popular. And that's pretty much the same offline. When they did that one gotta go or talked about the "Mt. Rushmore" of Hip Hop producers, it was Dre, Pharrell, Kanye, and Tim. When most Hip Hop producers bring up influences, Tim's name is brought up more often than Swizz.
