Stop this nonsense. Apple Vision Pro is by definition a VR headset with video passthru. So is the Quest 3. It's one thing to say the Vision Pro is a better device, but it's flat out lie to say it isn't a Virtual Reality headset.
Once they’re contact lenses we all willcan you really see yrself using it for very long to begin with?
Is anyone actually going to answer OP’s question?
Apple is going to be Apple and pretend all it's products sit outside existing paradigms. MKBHD, the reviewer from The Verge, and the reviewer from CNET, all called Apple Vision Pro a VR headset. These were reviewers handpicked by Apple, BTW. Look, if Apple called AVP a VR or Mixed Reality headset, then consumers and the VR press would immediately make direct comparisons to the Meta Quest 3 or Varjo Xr4. When you do a direct comparison, you see the AVP struggles to justify its price given its poor comfort, low battery life, and overall limited utility compared with the two devices I listed. The Varjo Xr4 is a legit pro headset already in use and costs more than Vision Pro. It's not about cheering on a particular device, but being honest about what the devices provide and not let one company steer the industry with Bullshyt claims. Meta took a ton of heat over the past 3 years with how it handles the Quest. Apple shouldn't be immune to criticism..Apple calls Vision Pro a spatial computer -- What is that? | Digital Trends
Apple's Vision Pro is a spatial computer, but it looks like a VR headset begging the question of what's different and what that means for the future.www.digitaltrends.com
At the end of the day, I’m not buying either for the next 1-2 years, at least until Apple releases a new version. And I own both Apple and meta stock, so the success of either of this is perfectly fine with me. "Why in 2024 are Apple using a single band fabric head strap? Why is the FOV lower than all current VR headsets? Why
I’m just saying, this is different than Meta’s
