My only thing is, VR has failed so many times in the past 20-25 years

If facebook couldn't make it pop off on a widescale at a $300-500 price point, it's gonna be hard for this to catch on at an amont of $3,500.

I know Apple has some blindly loyal sheep, but this is a different bracket

Spacial computing and VR are not the same.

That was completely different. This is Apple so you KNOW the such and such will pair seamlessly with the ecosystem!!

And I'm talking about the ACTUAL ecosystem!!

The quest has been doing this
This. It’s legit mind blowing that Apple users don’t know about ANYTHING until Apple does it. It’s literally the equivalent of Apple users (iPhone/iPad) never understanding that they are always years behind in the technology space overall (as I type this from an iPhone, but I know better). Wonder why people call them sheep.

Imagine the ads following your eyes. You can close your eyes but you'll just hear it playing anyway or worse, you'll head a voice telling you to watch it if you want to continue or subscribe to an ad free tier

VR is a dream come true for advertisers and companies like Meta live off that revenue+selling your data.

Apple will know exactly what your crib looks like and where it is. A skilled hacker could send emails commenting on your dog and art work and demand money or else they'll put your details online :wow:

I really need to do a clean sweep of my online foot print and invest in more privacy tools. In 10-20 years, not having a profile that data brokers can use to make money off you will be like having a detached house or a Lamborghini.

These are different things.. different technologies.. comparing shyt from 25 years ago to what we have now is asinine.

The quest and this are 2 different things. The quest is an spin on VR with incremental technology advances.. faster, better take on the something that’s been around for over a decade.. this is more… hey devs, if the world was your canvas, and we had a new slick way to navigate it in a hybrid multi dimensional space.. what new experiences could you come up with.. here’s a $4k device with all the latest tech built in.. show me what you got.

By the end of this decade, this tech will be the size of a pair of glasses that overlays onto and provides information about everything around you and so will begin the transition away from smartphones.

It's cool but is it really worth $4,000 dollars (after tax) ?

I'm sure they'll be a new version in 18 months to outdate yours

This.... Plus the battery life is dogshyt, and no matter how cool it is, Im not watching sports or TV or whatever with that shyt hanging on my head in the house man...

The fukk? Like, this shyt is cool for a demo or for a brief fun time, but I don't really want to own it. Ill try it at someones house but Im not buying that shyt :yeshrug:
