USAID is done on the continent along with the other things that US used to allegedly project power and extract wealth so Africans have 4 years of self-determination (if the US is the main inhibitor as claimed).

Me personally I take great pride that my ancestors built themselves up from nothing and made a mark not only on America but on the world. That numerous Black Americans have contributed to the American project, and believe in its ideals even if it doesn’t always abide by them. One of my relatives was killed by the Klan. A famous relative mind you. He still believed in America.

Black Americans have served heroically in ever American conflict and have been present in every great American epoch.

Asking why I feel pride in being American is like asking why I feel pride in my family. We are inexorably linked through good and bad. There is no other country.

That’s crazy. I’ve had Japanese (always young males) tell me they love Trump. I ask them why and it’s always the sigma tough guy bullshyt. I’ve seen maga flags, even confederate flags before.

I think we have to come to the conclusion the big strong man being able to bully the weak appeals to something primal in the human psyche.
