He leaned too hard into that “anti cancel culture” bs and now has the support of Fox News pundits and right wing talking heads.
They are trying to preserve the U.S. and are willing to bandwagon blacks or force them into the movement, because they believe everyone is against the WCM. Meanwhile in comments on other websites, they let it be known there true intentions if they can reverse this going forward.

I've touched on this in other threads.

All the black/white shyt is stupid but it's the truth that Dave has resonated with a white audience from the jump. Faizon and others are saying it like it's a bad thing, makes him inauthentic or means he's competing with lesser talent, that's nonsense.

But no, Half Baked, Men In Tights, people aren't going to say those are black' movies or hood classics, whatever. Neither Aries or Faizon can really put together a dope set, movie let alone a special for a network.

That doesn't mean he's 'for' white people, just means he has inroads to that crowd and always had. And he uses that to his advantage to address white folks directly.

Been saying this he’s corny for over a decade

he was popping when blue streak came out with Martin, his first few major stand ups after that

Tell us you think Dave Chappelle's career started in 2017 without telling us you think Dave Chappelle's career started in 2017 brehs

:mjlol:

This has been the narrative attached to him his whole career. Nikkas were not rushing to watch Half Baked and some of his earlier specials. It wasn't until his show took off that he got everybody. Even then if you think about it, what shows outside of Chappelle Show did black people watch on Comedy Central? None. Comedy Central is a white network that wanted Chappelle because they knew his audience.

His shows, even til this day, are predominantly white. Dave is like that kid in school who hangs with the whites, but the nikkas still fukk with him. Even though he isn't doing "black comedy" his authenticity and talent can't be ignored, even by us.

So I wouldn't say he is for white people; à la Hannibal Buress, Key & Peele, Tiffany Haddish, etc... But he surely isn't for black people if that makes sense. He is for everybody honestly.

hate to admit it but it’s true. Black people were more into the Cedric the entertainers, Bernie Macs, DL Hughley, etc. Whites definitely put Dave on. Anyone who says otherwise is in denial.

I don’t agree with it but it’s far from a “new” narrative…for years (dating back to the height of the chappelle show) I’ve heard ppl try to argue that he’s not a “black” comedian bcuz they believe he didn’t come up in the chitlin circuit

Aaron McGruder was born in Chicago, Illinois.[2] When Aaron was six years old, his family moved to Columbia, Maryland, after his father accepted a job with the National Transportation Safety Board. McGruder has an older brother.

McGruder attended the Jesuit school, Loyola Blakefield, from grades seven to nine. Following two years he left the school and transferred to public high school, Oakland Mills High School and the University of Maryland, from which he graduated[7] with a degree in African American Studies.

Their backgrounds not all that dissimilar.

You know damn well this isn’t the case that’s being made anymore. They’re arguing his comedy is palatable by whites than it is black ppl.
