Where does the 4.5 40 come from for Trey? He didn't run the combine

2021 NFL Draft: Trey Lance won't run 40 at pro day, leaning on tape to show speed

Hobgood said he consistently clocked Lance in the mid-4.5s during the 40-yard dash and at 1.99 seconds in the "flying" 40, which clocks the last 20 yards of a run after a player reaches top speed.

"His top-end speed was consistent with one of our receivers and faster than one of our cornerbacks," Hobgood said. "If he ran at the combine in the receiver group, he would put up comparable times."

Said Lance, "My top-end speed is definitely something that impressed people. I don't think the guys there I was with knew I could go like that."
They would have if they'd watched his college tape. The 30 carries for 166 yards in the FCS National Championship game showed his speed.

In hindsight, his refusal to run at the combine was a red flag

Selecting a project like Trey and trying to develop him during a win now window isn't something that Kyle can do, unfortunately.

Yeah he probably should have been a back end of the 1st round, early 2nd round draft pick if he's this raw.

Trey has the physical talent and upside but Brocks years of QB experience give him a considerable edge. Like a LOT of scouts overlooked that in last years draft. But this is where Trey has to work extra hard and show his resilience come next year.

If Brock had an arm he would not have been drafted where he was

Im torn, Philly always been my #2 team, but of course couldn’t root for them after losing to them, and taking the L to Mahommes in the Super Bowl has made me not want to see him win, today was supreme “meh” for me for either outcome
