It's not about the revenue. It's about the payroll and the restrictions it has now under the new CBA. The threshold the Yankees are trying not to go over is more or less a hard cap. The Tigers' payroll is $120 mil. Ours is $195. The Yankees don't wanna go over $189 mil because it fukks them over in the draft.

the yankees are clearing so much money the luxury tax aint shiiit. if George was still around he wouldnt care about any luxury tax or if Hank was allowed to run it but the media ran him out

No homo but Hank was brash but I never head him say anything I disagreed with like he said Joba should be a starter, he shouldve been, yanks just messed up how they limited his innings that year. He said NL is the only league that still has the pitcher hit and its stupid, thats true. When we didnt make the offs in 08, he said we will win next year. We did. And dudes blame him for the Arod contract but we wouldnt win in 09 without it. Id rather a guy make a mistake every now and then like the Arod contract but his number one goal is winning. Hal like he said is a finance major

Hank cares more about his horses than this team. He's just around. If anything, he would have delegated duties to the same people that ruined the minor league system so bad, George had to be banned from baseball to get it right again.

None of the shyt that goes on personnel wise with the team involves Hank like that. Hank's just there. Hal does the business. Randy does the brown nosing and promo shyt, and Cashman deals with the personnel on the field. I could never blame Hank for what's right or wrong with the team other than the A-Rod deal because he doesn't really do shyt. He just talks. The A-Rod deal is why he fell back.

Levine and Trost are and have been the biggest problems.

They arent baseball ppl at all and all they care about is catering to the ppl sitting in the lower level...the corporates

empty seats at yankee stadium? :dead:

more proof nobody cares about baseball anymore

people were just more excited to go to the old stadium...its not the fans...its the ballpark and who it caters to.

If they never took down the old one the place would be packed and ppl would be paying 200 bucks on stubhub to sit in the upper level.

how come?

its still the new york yankees playing baseball, you think fans are like "i dont want to go to the new stadium"

if anything a new yankee stadium or stadium in general makes fans want to go there and watch it and see the stadium for themselves

You don't know

The Old Place had pitchers, relievers shook.

Yankees down late in a game, Every Ball a pitcher threw would be cheered like a base hit, hell even umps were shook to call strikes against the Yankees.

The Only thing the new place had was the Jet Stream and now thats gone.

the stadium isnt new anymore that's the problem. People see it as anything but a baseball park. Its an overpriced mall catered to rich people and executive Dad's sending their 16 year old daughters to sit in the legends section.

The old stadium was purely about baseball and the morons that make these decisions overplayed their hand.

People dont go to baseball games to spend money at steak houses, gift shops or the Hardrock...they are there to watch baseball.

yankee tickets aren't even hard to get, you can buy them 2 hours before the game

baseball just isn't that appealing to everyone

you can't find playoff tickets to the knicks, giants, jets :dead: the day of the game for somewhat cheap

I was talking to my brother today and we both agreed it's bizarre but this feels like the Yankees had a losing record and missed the playoffs the way people are panicking but really there in the ALCS. But it really does feel that way it feels like there needs to be big changes. I'm starting to feel like maybe they should take offers for Cano in the offseason see what people are willing to give you if you can't find any deal you feel suitable fine but check the leagues tempature on him.
