I am in NYC weekdays all summer for work. Great place to earn fast money. May rent a furnished sublet after my lease in Boston is up. (Sick of hotels.)

Anyone tried airbnb.com for lodging while on travel?

When you say earth you mean the USA?

Like when you call that sports competition you play "the World Series?

People need to list what cities "on earth" they've been before I take their opinion seriously.

I grew up in DC area, now live in LA. I've been to a rack of cities

LA: beautiful scenery, weird people, not a real city

NYC: probably my favorite city of all. Diversity, culture, food like no other.

Hong Kong: most impressive skyline, luxe lifestyle, pretty diverse for an Asian city, amazing food

Tokyo: crazy shopping, a little too sterile and racially homogenous, good food

Osaka/Kyoto: more crazy shopping, less influenced by western culture, good
Japanese seafood dishes, crazy Samurai temples

Fukuoka: where pork ramen (hakata or tonkotsu) was invented. They have a ramen food court that had the best fukking ramen.

London: great diversity, shytty weather, friendly people, lots of style and culture, expensive

Seoul: very high tech, not very diverse, great nightlife and food, amazing public transportation

Barcelona: my favorite European city, great weather, nude beaches, friendly people, bomb food, and one of the world's largest party scenes

Paris: very well kept city, food and culture like no other, people aren't as unfriendly like the stereotype

Venice: everybody should go here at least once. The entire city looks like nothing you've ever seen. Not much nightlife, very touristy, and expensive, but it's definitely worth it.

Rome: if you're a Christian, seeing the Vatican is something you won't forget. Not very diverse, but has great food, crazy architecture, and good shopping

Florence: go here and eat! The most random places had some of the best food I had in my life. (Word to al pirata) this region is known for Tuscan food (grilled local meats, fresh produce, etc) and bomb gelato on every block

Amsterdam: not very diverse, people weren't very friendly, interesting food, great museums to wonder in while you're high, decent nightlife, crazy bicycle system

now if this person were to tell me that NY is the greatest city on earth I'd be more inclined to believe just of the range of cities he has hit up. LOL at you other bums saying NY just cause you live there.

So what would you say you favourite is?

Amsterdamds great, but nothing compared to london IMO, but for a few nights its definately worth a visit.

I'm booking Venice for November for a weekend break, don't know if it'll be as good in the winter, but I'm getting a good deal.

I wanna visit lisbon (Portugal) and Marrakech for some reason, Marrakech looks interesting, just to see something different.

Visiting a city is nowhere near the same as actually living there year-round. That means all opinions are just as good as any other on this topic, they're all based on things we've heard and seen in our limited research. :yeshrug: We can't possibly live long enough to get actual feels for all these places.

USA
:dahell: live a little breh before you make that statement.

I know. I don't have the kind of money to travel. Flights and hotel are expensive. :sadbron:

I have visiting various cities in the US and Canada, and out of them all, NYC is the best.

Definitely the best in the country.

The world, is too tough to judge, there's some great cities out there brehs :whew:

L.A. is the most overrated city in the country...not on NY's level at all. The movie industry is propping that city up. Without it, San Francisco would be "the" city in Cali.

Chicago and San Fran are both closer to NYC than L.A....NYC is clearly superior than both, tho.

NYC
My cousin who has lived in ny all his life came to los angeles to visit his cousin (me) and said "i gotta move here" after a few days. Why? He said the people here were a lot more friendly. He approached a young lady for conversation and he was like "wow, the girls out here actually like talking" I feel that new york has so much demonic energy that it takes tragedy for friends out there to come together and on any average day friends are mean to one another and ignore one another. NYC doesnt embrace friendship to the extent it should, friend.

Sounds like your cousin is descended from swagless stock, friend. There's no other reason for such an experience. LA is barely a real city. It's not even top 5 in the country.
