Ehh, the best things about Downtown Brooklyn aren't there anymore, Beat Street and the Hot Dog restaurant on Fulton Street.

Do we count DUMBO as apart of Downtown Brooklyn? If not then considering Downtown BK alone one of the greatest places on earth is :patrice:

In 2025 is Downtown Brooklyn even better than Downtown Newark? :heh:

The Soul Spot is a good soul food restaurant though, but it's in a weird part of Downtown Brooklyn, it's on Atlantic Ave and its kind of far away (on foot) from where most Black people who frequent Downtown BK be at. Bed Stuy Fish Fry Livingston Street location line be damn near out the door during lunch time on weekdays :damn: I wonder how Soul Spot stays in business with a nearby restaurant in a better location offering the same type of food. You would think the "Black People on lunch break" would be when they make most of their business. Those white people near the actual Soul Spot restaurant are health conscious AF and I cannot see them eating unhealthy soul food often enough to keep the restaurant open :heh:

I was born and raised in Brooklyn and went to Downtown Bk countless times growing up and enjoyed it. But it was low key your run of the mill hood Brooklyn shopping strip :heh: Sort of like Flatbush Ave around Church Ave, Pitkin Ave, Graham Ave, etc. But I can totally see a tourist going to that specific part of BK and being like :unimpressed:

Oakland, Ca
i remember visiting my brother in Flatbush, this was back in 2002-03 i think. we were playing OB4CL. for some reason, the album sounded.... better. crazy. it was like the NY streets brought it to life or something. can't explain it.

I'm from Oakland and i have been to god knows how many places here and abroad. NYC is the greatest city on earth.

Downtown BK really starts around Atlantic so downtown BK has the Barclays Center and BAM and you definitely include Dumbo to that which includes multiple Piers with great views of the city

And if you got kids there’s piers with different activities and attractions in the summer time

As far as night life Downtown BK has kimono lounge, 333 , Oceans 8 for some pool and wings
Woodland was so lit downtown it got shut down multiple times even after changing locations :wow:

And you can’t forget all the amazing restaurants to choose from :wow:

While conveniently having a Trader Joe’s Apple Store Whole Foods Target etc all within walking distance :wow:

Legit just walked around Brooklyn for 6 hours when I visited in awe. If I was a millionaire I’d buy a condo up there and spend a weekend out of every month there.
