What responsibility does he have to "go another route" and make any other type of movie? Who are you to say what a "positive black movie" is or is not? If you have a story that you would like to tell, write it, find an audience, and pitch it like he did.
But to suggest he should tell only the stories you want him to tell.

Perry doesn't have to be the only one that represents us. We need more voices and variety, and that's where more black directors finding ways to produce and finance their own movies come in. Stop depending on white Hollywood to do it for us.
Thing is he DOES make positive black movies (in his own shytty writing way). He could do a WAY better job of telling it IMO, but I can't honestly sit here and call him a c00n. He's not shuckin and jiving and shyt. He does shyt his own way for his audience. THEY are the ones eating this shyt up.
Most of us in here aren't AND THAT IS OKAY not to like his shyt.
And TP don't owe no one shyt. Grind harder and you'll become successful eventually. Find your audience too. To go from sleepin in his raggedy car to where he is now...I can't shyt on a nikka like that.
I like Adam Sandler jawns and mufukkaz think the same of him as they do Tyler but guess what...his audience supports him and he knows to give them what they want and what he likes to make.
Sci Fi wasn't SUPER big either until Star Wars and shyt. Now look at George Lucas 30 plus years later....

Why? I still don't understand why he isn't free to create his films as he wishes. Fundamentally, what is your argument against that.
Funny thing is, I remember when Spike was doing all of his hustling, people were shytting on him as well. When he releases a films such as "Red Hook Summer" or "Miracle at St. Anna," they don't receive the same turnout as the average Tyler Perry joint.
I believe his two highest grossing films are "Inside Man" and "25th Hour."
im not against his movies i just want him to expand his audience
right now he has his own niche which works well but why not expand his audience and make more money

i cant knock his hustle, i mean his makes money and does it independently. its just that his movies are wack. i mean really bad. so its only so many props i can give him.
if his movies was good i would say more black directors should follow his lead, but i cant honestly say that because his movies are so terrible.
