Can you point me to the best stories and what genre they are

The Stand and The Shining are my personal favorites. I'd probably reccommend starting with The Shining, as The Stand clocks in at well over 1000 pages, so it may not be the most accessible entryway to King's work.

Salem's Lot and Pet Sematary also also well worth checking out as a starting point.

People might disagree but I think they should just get Tim Curry to reprise the role. The character is in full make-up anyway.
he made pennywise man, he was just suited for that role..look at his other make up/costume roles..
rocky horror, legend to name a few..but is he up for right now? Hmmm..

If you're interested in reading horror/weird ficion, but are new to it start with the short story collections. That way you don't have a 800-1000 page investment.

"Skeleton Crew" and "The Night Shift" are Stephen King's best short story collections. Also read Clive Barker's "The Books Of Blood". There's 6 parts to it which seems like a lot but each volume has 4-6 stories. Both of those guys were running shyt back then.

I'm hoping to start it this weekend. I really liked the Harry D'amour character and Pinhead is iconic so I'm pretty sure I will enjoy the shyt out of this book.

I'm about 1/3 of the way through it. Barker lost a few steps since the 80's but this is as close as he's came to that in 20+ years.
