He's exactly what I read every month breh. I really think Tobey's interpretation of Peter being this holier than thou savior who rarely has a bad word to say about anyone or bad thought about anyone unless he's possessed, has informed a lot of people's perception of Peter and Spider-man if they don't read the comics or don't have a long history with him. Peter is not perfect, far from it, and he has moments of ignorance, stupidity, arrogance, cockiness and anything else because he's always learning. He never has all the answers and he often is trying to figure stuff out on the fly until he gets a plan. Yes he talks a lot of crap to a lot of his villains but that's for a reason. Yes he's snarky, he's been snarky since he walked into the Fantastic Four headquarters and told them that they NEEDED him to be on their team but then told them nevermind because the job doesn't pay.

It's been ten years since the last good Spider-Man movie so it's about time they handed the property over.

After Winter Soldier, I was hyped to see some Baron von Strucker, Zemo, A.I.M, MODOK, along with more Falcon, Bucky, and Crossbones in the follow up, but Marvel so damn dead set in shoving Civil War into the MCU that doesn't look like it's gonna happen

Strucker is gonna be in Avengers 2. He's the one that has Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in captivity. Falcon, Bucky, and Crossbones are all in Cap 3. Also I'm pretty sure Civil War is just the name of the movie. It's going to be about the team diving after Tony creates Ultron but it won't be on the level of the comic. And no one wants to see a giant floating head brehbut who knows? people liked a tree that only said one word

It doesn't make sense for Spider-man to be old. He gets bit in high school and he's been MIA in the movie story arch.

Question is, who do they get to play him if they're going to re-cast it? I really hope this happens. Spider-man needs to be in The Avengers

It depends on if they do Peter Parker or Miles Morales. I've heard the guy from the Percy Jackson movies is a candidate. Idk about Gambino for Miles. It could end up being brilliant

i don't see the reason for recasting spidey, i really don't. it would cast such a wave of confusion over everything and for no good reason.

the world (our world) already has a spiderman. his name is andrew garfield. as spiderman andrew garfield was seen by MILLONS and MILLIONS of people all around the world. people and kids of all ages. fukk the movies, fact is we have a spiderman and he's existed thus far in his own little world without ever crossing the avengers. fine, no problem. fukk the movies... the fact is we already have a spiderman. a real spiderman with a real history.

the moment you recast and the moment you reboot it ceases to be a crossover. spiderman becomes just another gimmick.

but if you use garfield you are adding a whole new layer to the ever expanding marvel universe. that and the kids all around the world who grew up with him get to see THEIR spiderman link up with the avengers. a true crossover. epic.








it is similar to the batfleck situation now. obviously this movie is going to be a colossal hit anyway but if they had gotten christian bale to return as batman, it would have been even bigger.

I just wanted to echo what others said about Garfield being the definitive peter parker. i grew up reading Spider-Man comics in the late 90s (amazing, spectacular, unlimited, sensational, 'peter parker spiderman'... all the titles + guest appearances), not to mention the fox cartoons, the diane duane novels, the toys, the video games (maximum carnage, separation anxiety, sinister six, the first spiderman game on psx, etc), so on and so forth... thing is, I'd actually moved on from spider-man before the first raimi movie came out but i still went to the theaters to watch it just off principle... and i was completely underwhelmed by Tobey's peter parker.

i actually wasn't a fan of any of the movies even though i thought the doc ock one was the best of the 3.

Well, last year i finally sat down and caught the latter half of the first garfield spiderman (it was on a movie channel i had a 6 month free sub to).. and i had to hand it to him, he looked and talked very much like the Peter Parker i grew up reading as a kid.

It was the first thing I said to myself 10 mins in to watching him act.

He just had none of Spider-Man's swag I guess. Never in any of the scenes with Tobey as Spider-Man did I feel like he was in control of the situation. A lot of that had to do with the director and the screenplay, but dopey ass Tobey didn't help. I mean look at the scene where he was fighting Bone Saw in the wrestling ring. You've got a guy with superhuman strength, superhuman speed, and reflexes that allow him to move fast enough to dodge bullets, and he's getting his ass kicked by this dude? Spidey barely won that fight, and ended up on his ass kicking the dude in the knees like a friggin rape victim.

Damn those movies sucked.
