The changes from DS3 to DS4

1. multi touchpad that is clickable, that can be used for zoom function i.e. ipad ect.. as well as using your phone for going from one page to the other, just think of your iphone when searching the web. There are some great game ideas it can be used for.

2. Light Bar, that works in concert with the PS4eye that will sense depth location, and will allow the camera and mics to focus on you and where you are, that also picks up the color of your controller to differentiate you from the 2nd player. Also the lightbar can be programmed to be a health indicator and change colors too reflect damage level/health.

3. Analog and trggers have received an upgrade, to be more senistive and less deadzone and decrease latency.

4. Speaker- where you get in game audio, based on what the dev wants too send to it. I can imagine playing NBA 2K shooting a FT and fans saying crazy stuff and it comes out the speaker on the controller as well as on court embiance.

5. Share button already been explained

6. Options button where select and start are located as well as other stuff

7. Head phone Jack

Do you still think its' the same?

@The Phoenix What you got to say to that, breh? :mjpls: Obviously the DS4 is an upgrade to the DS3 the guts are almost completely different.

Yes. I do. I think they have added "features" so you don't question why you are buying a second controller instead of using the ones you have. You using that touch screen in game? You using that Move light instead of the wand? You really need to hear the crowd out of your controller? That headphone jack was speculated to be similar to the jack on the 360 controller for headsets. Do you need that when bluetooth exists? You mean you won't be able to play Call of Duty 8 unless you have THAT controller? You can't play the new Killzone without THAT controller? All that sh!t looks like something MadCatz came up with on a rainy day. It should be something thats cool if you have it, but if I don't I can still play my games just the same. Yeah, I can't hear my head coach in Madden sending in the play from the audio on my controller....but I can still select a play and run the damn ball. Why do I have to buy a second controller just to play one of my boys in Street Fighter when I already have a controller that can do it?

PS2 had the came controller as dual shock 3 minus the cord :childplease:

Where were you when the PS3 dropped? :childplease:

Were you asking for something giving PS2 controllers connectivity?

New console, new controller. Don't want to buy new controller? Don't buy new console. it's that simple really :jawalrus:

I understand what you're saying but You asked a question about the difference between the DS3 vs DS4 and I just laid out the differences.

SMH. Dude, the controller went wireless. It wasn't as if they had a way to attach the PS2 controller to the PS3 without adding costs. All I'm asking hear is to be able to use some shyt I already have. You think they are syncing the wireless signals of the PS4 controller in some new way that the PS3 controller couldn't use? Stop making idiotic excuses. There is no reason not to be able to use a PS3 controller on a PS4 other than trying to squeeze more cash out of you.

it's painful. there are people out here buying $180 qanbas and even crazier stuff than that, and many have several because they like seimitsu parts for king of fighters games, and sanwa for everything else.

i have two wii sticks and the wiiu still uses those. PS4 cant let itself get beat by wiiu on this issue :wow:

I just spoke to a homie. He says that it's specifically the DS3 that won't be compatible with the PS4. Since legit arcade sticks utilize USB connections the PS4 won't have a problem recognizing them.

As for wireless arcade sticks :pachaha: he's not sure about but he says if you're serious about fighting games and you're using wireless arcade sticks.... lol

hopefully they accept generic USB devices. i have a neo geo x stick that i have been using on PC games and people tell me they have been able to use it with PS3s...

man, you are really trying your hardest not to get this, arent you?

gaming has changed. the biggest games in the world right now are downloaded for a dollar, and played on an iphone.

with this controller, sony is CLEARLY trying to make inroads to that market. wisely, i might add.

now, the next angry birds can be ported to the ps4 over night, because it has a touch screen on its controller. and if you buy it on your ps4, you can, hopefully, be able to download it on your phone, and play there. or your vita. or your tablet.

they are going in a new direction.

again,

they are going in a new direction. :deadhorse:

youre right, the first 10-15 games might not make use of that touch pad.

but is the whole cycle of the next round of console development supposed to be held up, because you dont want to spend 40 dollars on an OPTIONAL second controller?

and once again, because you dodged it the first time:

PS4 Will Feature a New Controller, Multi-User Log Ins and More - Rumor

the controllers seem to be developed to allow multiple users to sign into the network at once, to earn trophies.

so,
ill break this down one last time so mods can close this thread and you can move on to something else you don't understand.

1) the only reason you would buy a second (optional) controller, would be to play a game with a friend, locally.

2) the only way that friend is going to be able to play coop games with you (in this new generation of consoles) is by using the new controller to log into the network independently of you.

can you use PS2 controllers natively ona PS3? no.
can you use Xbox controllers natively on an Xbox 360? no.
why would PS3 controllers work on a non-backwards comparable PS4?
