All jokes aside a number of people around here had no idea he helped start Def Jam or produced classic Hip Hop records. I learned that in an argument in another thread about white people never contributing to Hip Hop thread heh.

People legit thought/think Russell Simmons did everything by himself.

Rick Rubin is a legend. Def Jam in the 80's is the best label ever. They fukked it up something fierce in the 90's...
