I don't know if the guy actually made the beats...I am not up on his production credits...
But the few songs I have heard, kind of sound the same...A heavy guitar riff supported by a break beat...
In any case, my statement was more of general opinion on music production...
as a 24 year old, it honestly amazed me how many ppl didn't know who the fukk rubin was after that commercial. ppl recognized timbo/pharrell then were like "WHO THAT OLD WHITE GUY?"
smh
when was there ever widespread hate for Rick Rubin?
Been saying this about dre and nikkas don't want to hear itWhen it comes to hip hop, if you aint make 85% of the beat, I don't respect you as a producer...
Producers, of any genre, who don't compose the actual music are OVER RATED...
Sound engineers are underrated...
As long as you have a good sound engineer to mix and a good sound engineer to master, then I personally don't think a "good producer, who has never composed a beat" matters...
That's old school paradigm, because the technology was limited...
Today, a good sound engineer can give you a good recording using a desktop microphone...
yeah, apparently you're just angry that your hero nas wasn't the one to bring him back into the spotlight.
maybe it's like 2manyFCKNrappers said about people just jumping on the bandwagon. i say it prolly cooler to hate because a jackass could say that rick is feeling :flabbyandsick: and that's why he needs a current high profile artist like ye to stay relevant.
^not my opinion, tho.
i'm happy that kanye got 'reduced' by rick but that's because he's one of my favorite producers for hiphop and rock (slayer is the reason i fukked with him).
and it is cool to love rick rubin now. just like it always has been.

no hate I ever saw, just no love
I see more Mike Will or Timbo threads on different message boards than Rubin.
but I swear 70% of the coli hate old school rap.. Especially the peeps he produced.
No love for the Beasties, LL, etc... but now he around Jay and Kanye, its Rick Rubin
I aint going to rant, but dude has always been my fav producer of all time. (hip hop)
If y'all aint up on his discography (even the Red Hot Chili Peppers) check it out..
But anyway, have y'all seen Rick Rubins girlfriend?? OH MY BAGEEZUS. She badder than Beyonce
