Rick Rubin's status as one of the GOAT Hip Hop producers was solidified far before he even worked with Jay or Kanye. He's overlooked by many as a Hip Hop producer. Dude has entirely produced classic albums. The stuff he did some iconic albums for Run DMC and LL.

All jokes aside a number of people around here had no idea he helped start Def Jam or produced classic Hip Hop records. I learned that in an argument in another thread about white people never contributing to Hip Hop thread heh.

People legit thought/think Russell Simmons did everything by himself.
