I'm a competitor. I don't want to be embarrassed by anybody on the court regardless of their race. I'm sure some dudes feel that way about him being Asian, but that is a scrub mentality if they only care about being embarrassed because he is Asian.

Lin's comment was not related to the Knicks, the Rockets or that contract. It was about basketball and how he gets treated on the court and "how its been his whole life".
The writer of the article and the threadstarter were being a little bit misleading.
nah I want to rip a franchise off for $25 milli then I'm good. the rockets shoulda went with Delonte west.
this
negroes still living in the 1960s when their fukking president is a negro/muslim/al-qaeda member
My guess is they wanted to sell Houston as officially "China's Team"He didn't rip the franchise off...they were stupid enough to give him the money...and damn delonte west, they already had far better point guards on the their roster last season...they let one walk away in Dragic...and traded another for peanuts in Kyle Lowry...it was truly that a team that actually had one too many far superior players at his position, went out of their way to get rid of both to them for the privilege of overpaying Lin...I can't even imagine what it feels like to be a Rockets fan

either stick to the books or stick to hoopin, Lin was basically an a$$hole who wanted it all, nothing to do with him being of Chinese background, it's pretty sickening that he's pulling the race card in this instance. How is he self privileged by going to Harvard? Please explain
McHale didn't like Lowry for some reason, that's why he gone, dragic was solid, but they didn't want to pay him enough.

Ya'll nikkas must have grew up around only black people b/c I've been around cacs my whole life and used to this shyt. I laugh at these dudes trying to go hard about race and you dudes getting butt hurt about some racist shyt like it's something new
Get out the house
I think both sides are to blame. Obviously the media first, but Lin could've shyed away from it.
Instead I have to go to my mailbox and get my GQ mag and see Jeremy Lin on the cover.
LOL
I can't believe some of y'all didn't find it to be strange to continually show random Asian people in the crowd every time Lin scored or did something good.
They could've been Japanese, they could've been Vietnamese, they could've been Korean....it doesn't matter, they're in the crowd and they look like him, soooo just cut the camera to them.
I guess I'm alone in finding that to be somewhat insulting.
Should they show a random black person in the crowd everytime Leandro Barbosa or Nene scores? Then show a white person when Anderson Varejao scores....

We are not talking about what you do on the fukking playground or ymca. That's different from a professional league where you face players of the caliber of lebron and kobe. The nba is not a pickup game, if lin is not able to succeed when he knows that people are coming for him then he does not deserve that contract that he was given or the attention that he's receiving.
