Back then their finances were fukked up. They did what they had to do and now Disney owns the company and apparently Disney ain't playing that. The only reason Disney bought them was for the movies rights.

It is what it is. If you look at it from their perspective why should they build up stuff other people can make the most bank off of? The real money is in the movies not the comics.

If you were Marvel you'd be promoting X-Men when Fox is getting the major loot off it?
So you actively punish your comic fans and video game fans because you can't make the most money off the film's?

It's cutting off your nose to spite your face while spitting in your fans face.

Those comics and games are promotional tools for their films. It's like Nintendo putting Mario on a Sony system while they've trying to sell the switch.

I don't get why you feel they should use their promotional tools to boost value in something from their perspective someone else owns more of than they do.

They're running a business and what they're doing makes total business sense even of some of their fans don't like it. In the grand scheme of things comic book fans are unimportant in comparison to those movies.

Marvel Studios isn't the same as Marvel Comics though. One business is more profitable than the other but they don't feed each other the way fans think, which is ultimately what a lot of cats in this thread have been saying.

That's a completely nonsensical comparison.

Saying fans aren't important and this is a business decision is the exact sentiment of hubris that allows companies to have their teeth kicked in by competitors and them lose their fans.

The fans are far more important than a spiteful business decisions. The company doesn't exist without those fans.

What it's like is Nintendo selling the Mario movie rights to a company, that movie becoming a huge success then Nintendo getting mad and saying no more mario games!

They are only hurting them self, not the company with the film rights.

Money is money. Profit is profit. Willingly losing out on profit while pissing off your fan base just because you can't have all the money is the opposite of a smart business decision.

It's idiotic hubris and childish.

Especially with them trying to have something on the comic charts thats not either A) a crossover, or B) something spider man related:youngsabo:

They can't afford to sideline their superstars. they keep pimping out my boy and trying to make iron man happen

No that's not the answer. Marvel needs to stop being petty. That's the proper answer. Don't piss off your x men readers because you want to be aggy about a choice YOU made and an action YOU took. Fans shouldn't suffer for that
I don't know man. It seems Feige and the Disney board claim solely to be doing this because Fox has the right to the movies. They claim not to want to promote fox material.

Kevin and marvel studios have nothing to do with what marvel comics does. Tom Breevort, marvels assistant editor in chief, put it bluntly when he said it does nothing for their bottom line to promote x men. This is purely a business decision. So yeah it's business but it hurts the fans who just want to read comics. You're getting them involved in your BS rather than just not being petty

Marvel is a film company first and furthermost and everything they do is to boost that. Why should they promote X-Men when someone else makes the vast majority of the money on it? It undermines what they do as a company.

Nintendo putting Mario on Sony's platform boost Sony's money. Sure Nintendo makes money off the game they make but doing so undermines what they do as a company in the same way Marvel putting any sort of heavy promotion on the X-Men undermines their business plan.If anything they should use the X-Men to boost the characters they actually have the movie rights to.

You and people like you are a part of a small vocal minority that are displeased with the way they run the company. It's not like fans have mobilized and boycotted the films or the comics over this. Most people don't care.

And even if you wanted to defend it fron the business side.

Days of future past, apocalypse and deadpool are the 3 highest grossing x men or x men related films.

So marvel doing this has literally had no effect on fox because they're bigger than ever right now.

I wouldn't be surprised to see old man Logan be the highest grossing wolverine film.

The Xmen has been THE premier superhero underdogs in the Marvel U tho... :why: The fact remains on power for power the mutants outmatch the inhumans everytime... The only one that is most dangerous that I know of is Black Bolt... But once you chop the head off the snake... :demonic: The rest shall fall...

Blackbolt got beat in #1 by Dazzler...a smart character can beat Blackbolt every time.

You can't honestly believe that. It's all the same parent company and they're all on the same page. It's about as clear as day what the comic side is doing is what the film side and parent company want.
