The Xmen has been THE premier superhero underdogs in the Marvel U tho... :why: The fact remains on power for power the mutants outmatch the inhumans everytime... The only one that is most dangerous that I know of is Black Bolt... But once you chop the head off the snake... :demonic: The rest shall fall...

Black Bolt is the heavy-hitter. Sleep on Karnak if you want tho. There's a reason in the story he, not Bolt, was the mutants' first target.

The wild thing about X-men is the way that so much of their plight is still relevant today.

The Fantastic Four, for example, ties in heavily to the 1960's space race with the Soviets and the general fascination with rockets and science of the era. At the point they first appeared, people hadn't even seen a man walk on the moon yet.
The Avengers also had early stories like the Kree-Skrull War, which was clearly modeled after the 'Red Scare' and Communist witch hunts of the 1950's.

While the X-men was based on the Civil Rights movement of the 60's, the issues addressed here are still very real and serious problems that transcend the time period in a way none of the other characters besides Spider-Man are able to quite capture. It's sad to see them slowly going out like this.

It's emotionally resonant moments like this that make the X-men the GOAT in my view.

Read Inhumans Volume 4 and I have a new appreciation for the Inhumans. The new run is pretty good.

Blame it on movie rights. Same reason the X-Men can't be in Marvel vs Capcom anymore.
The blame rests solely on marvel being petty fukks.

They are actively punishing their own fan base because they themselves made bad business decisions.

Anybody defending this is a moron.

Not 1 person is hyped to play as fukking captain marvel instead of x men in that new game.

Back then their finances were fukked up. They did what they had to do and now Disney owns the company and apparently Disney ain't playing that. The only reason Disney bought them was for the movies rights.

It is what it is. If you look at it from their perspective why should they build up stuff other people can make the most bank off of? The real money is in the movies not the comics.

If you were Marvel you'd be promoting X-Men when Fox is getting the major loot off it?

Yes because as a comics company I need to make it so that my customers are happy. Also I would notice that there isn't a big correlation between comic sales and movie tickets as much as Marvel would like us to believe

listen to what you said though. its not theirs anymore. so why get mad knowing they have no control over a major facet of where the money comes from and they refuse to support? you cant have it both ways.

:dwillhuh: it's still theirs, marvel still own xmen comics which is what this thread is about.
