It's true. Democracy is an ASPECT of our representative/constitutional republic. We don't have a TRUE democracy. If we did, then the electoral college wouldn't exist.
There's no place on earth that's a TRUE democracy.
HOWEVER
Democracy is used interchangeably because the "democratic process" is used for how we pick leaders. These people are saying this so the GOP can further erode the democratic fiber of the nation and eventually stat gutting the Constitution.
