What's stupid about it? Some of the greatest career defining runs were on busted plays, where going by your logic, the rusher should have ran forward and gotten tackled, instead they ran east and west as an improvisation to running where they are supposed to run. This obvious takes more use of skillset to see holes in the defense since the play is no longer going as planned and the runners are mostly on their own. How can you say having defenses chase you all over the field in vain falling all over themselves not dominating?

these are three of the most iconic runs in NFL history. Where are these three going backwards, east-west, or whatever else.

Its stupid as fukk because running backs go forward, not backwards.

What takes skill is seeing here a hole is and hitting it. Being able to stop on a dime to cut back to where the hole is. Being able to break tackles. Being able to break long runs is a skill. Being able to make moves in the open field to avoid defensive backs is a skill. Having balance so you dont fall over yourself while running is a skill. Being able to fit yourself into small creases in the line to gain yards is a skill.

Running backwards and side to side is not something you want in your running back and its a good way to end up out the league. Its not a skillset. And if you faster than everyone, why run backwards?

I don't think breh ever in his life paused to think that if they could beat everyone running downhill those RB's wouldn't have to cut back :dead:

And did he say something about Dirk not having a post game? :heh:

This might be an all-time shytty posting performance.

I never said Dirk didn't have a post game I said the opposite and used that as a basis for my point about dominant runningbacks using other aspects of their athleticism in their running style similar to Dirk being a great shooter in addition to his post game.

I'm not ready to rate him over prime Tomlinson or prime Faulk yet.

Didn't OJ have like 2200 yards in only 14 games? That's disgusting:scusthov:

You can call bias on the Marshawn claim, but Peterson's running style will be his downfall.

Also, I'd take Marshall Faulk over every RB listed so far if im building a team. Marcus Allen after him and LT after those 2

I overreacted to dikkerson being overrated but I just want my nikka AD to get his props. dikkerson put up great/unbelievable numbers for 4-5 years

Admit it...you did a google search on Eric's stats and did the :ohhh:

Because no one who actually WATCHED HIM would say he was overrated.

As a matter of fact, he.s underrated.

This has yet to be proven and one of the dumbest sayings there is.

AD is one of the most elusive runners in football. And lots of times, the best way to protect yourself is to give the hit rather than receive it.

He got hurt running through a hole like any back. His style lent nothing to his injuries and I'm still waiting for his aggressiveness being at fault for him ever getting hurt.

Damn. You're dumb. Those are 3 of the greatest dual threats in NFL history so yes I would take them over Jim Brown. It's not like I said I'd take Corey Dillon or Ricky Waters over Jim Brown.

His style being he runs high and he fights for yards when he should learn when to give. I know when I've seen countless plays where someone hits him up top and he gets in an awkward position because of that high style cause he's always fighting for yards. I'm always expecting a DB to come at his legs and he's done again. dikkerson ran tall cause he was tall, but he knew how to get down.

Like I said, show me how it's lent to him being injured.

Where's the proof? His injury is not a result of not getting down. He has never gotten hurt on a play where "didn't get down."

The fact that it took this long for someone to mention Earl Campbell in this thread is embarassing.

SMH @ the disrespect Emmith get. Even Marshawn, LT getting more consideration,,,,

Beanie Wells would have been a Hall of Fame RB on those Dallas teams....

aint nobody checking for Emmitt

OJ was on teams that had run only offenses so of course he would amass stats like that, he was a great runningback but did nothing flashy to me. Nothing personal against him.

better question, who would you take: Emmitt Smith or Curtis Martin?

Emmit was blessed with the greatest situation a rusher could hope for. Lost in this is the fact the Cowboys defense created a crazy amount of turnovers in the opponents field that put Emmitt in position to run the ball in from like the 15 because the defense gave them a awesome
field position. It's unfortunate that greatest is now viewed as something of a
bias.

Sooo much bullshyt in this thread:

RBs disrespect in this thread: OJ, Earl and Emmitt

You niqqas don't know SHYT about football:aicmon:
