The D (where it's so cold)
:what:

he was a 5 time rushing champion. He was getting 1500 yards in 14 game seasons.

I mean you shytting on OJ for "not doing much else" yet are gladly propping up AD. What "else has" AD done? Same with Eric dikkerson.

Its a criteria that makes no sense and seems biased based on you seeing more of the later RBs.

OJ was on teams that had run only offenses so of course he would amass stats like that, he was a great runningback but did nothing flashy to me. Nothing personal against him.

Emmit having a GOAT O line to run through for most of his prime will always be held against him. His running style had more to do with other people on the field than any other rusher mentioned.

fukk outta here. Emmitt one of the greatest in between the tackles runner ever. He wasn't a homerun runner like CJ. He was going get teh ball 20+ times a game and just beat you. His field vision is one of the greatest ever if not the greatest. Its disrespectful not to at least put him consideration

Emmitt gets credit for knowing how to avoid taking big hits and staying healthy, but the more you see the awful line play in the NFL now, the more you appreciate the greatness of the Cowboys line Emmitt ran behind.

did it all in 14 games, and was a threat out of the backfield receiving, 143.1 ypg in '73

too many opinions on him cant separate his on the field accomplishments and off the field:shaq2:

so wait, the defense knew the Bills would run. The Bills only ran, and yet OJ put up ridiculous numbers and won 4 rushing titles?

You not even making sense at this point. Just be real and say you not rating OJ that high because you dont see a lot of him on NFL films anymore for.... umm.... other stuff. :mjpls:

"he did nothing flashy for me"

dude was breaking 70, 80, even 90+ yard runs and you just dismissed it because "its not flashy." :russ:

At the very least, it is debatable. You make it seem like LT isn't even in his class which is ridiculous

LT was great, but he was a notch below AD, in my opinion. Just not a home run threat like Peterson. Tomlinson was on some STACKED San Diego teams for much of his career too. Peterson has only been on one.

Demarco Murray has had great games in the league with our horrible oline and he too like Emmith isnt a speedster. Just grat vision, running between the tacklers, and toughness.

You undervalue the skills and talent of a true running back who isnt reggie bushing it all over the field. A great Oline goes a long way but you have to have the talent and skill to take advantage.

Emmit was blessed with the greatest situation a rusher could hope for. Lost in this is the fact the Cowboys defense created a crazy amount of turnovers in the opponents field that put Emmitt in position to run the ball in from like the 15 because the defense gave them a awesome field position. It's unfortunate that greatest is now viewed as something of a bias.

AD might be the biggest waste of talent ever. If Musgrave had any idea what he was doing he woukd be running screens for him at least 4 or 5 times a game.

LT was putting up seasons of 2100+ yards from scrimmage when he was the ONLY weapon San Diego had (before Rivers & Gates). I can't buy the "better surrounding cast/team" as an argument at all
